By the third quarter up to the last 3 minutes of the fourth, UE was leading by up to 8 points. Two 3-pointers from ADMU’s Chris Tiu and a 2-point shot from Ryan Buenafe as against UE’s Thiele’s 2 points slimmed down UE’s lead by only a 1 point.

Another 2-point shot from UE gave UE a 3-point lead, with a little more than 30 seconds remaining. Chris Tiu’s 3-point shot tied the game at 50 points each, with 12 seconds remaining. UE was in possession, but at 1.5 seconds remaining, UE committed a back court violation. The ball was turned over to ADMU.

During the 5-minute extension ADMU and UE were each shooting points, and it was still nobody’s game. Chris Tiu did not play for half of the extension because of cramps. Ateneo won by 4 points, at 61 ADMU and 57 UE.

Earlier, during the first game, UP beat ADU by 31 points. UP scored 73 while ADU scored 42.
