Happy Father’s Day!

My father died 10 years ago, yet I cannot help but think of him on Father’s day. Happy Father’s Day, Daddy, wherever you are, I am sure you are happy and at peace.

I didn’t meet my father-in-law, as he has died a few days before I met my then husband-to-be. Yet, let me greet him, “Happy Father’s Day to you!”

So there’s no one to greet, “Happy Father’s Day” on my point of view as a daughter.

But this does not stop me from greeting my hubby, the father of my children, “Happy Father’s Day!” May you always be happy and content, quiet that you may be, with the blessings our family receives each day.

May you be blessed with perfect health and perfect wealth–we cannot ask for more, as HE provides our needs to a T.

May you be filled with simple joys–the joy of being father to 7 (an economist, a lawyer, a future scientist, another future lawyer, a future doctor, a future banker and a future engineer–what grand ambitions you have in our children), grandfather to 3 (+1 in heaven) and wife to 1 (eccentric or whatever). A household to the extremes–quiet at times, riot at most times, everyone coming and going, Mucci a-barking or a-sleeping.

Racoma Family

Most of all–may you attain all that you wish for, all that you pray for–in HIS time…in Our Father in Heaven’s time. Yes, the true Father–who does not fail us no matter what. Thank you, Father in Heaven! Happy Father’s Day to you!

And yes, Happy Father’s Day, Angelo–may you be blessed with what you wish for, pray for, hope for, and more! You truly are blessed–with your good wife, adorable kids, and loving parents and siblings.

And to all the fathers that I know, (my 2 brothers, Ardy and Jun, brothers-in-law included), fathers in our family circle,  to all my father friends (and that includes you, dear Tony Joaquin), my blog and online friends far and near, yet dear, and hubbies of my online and blog friends, fathers in my UST Med Tech Batch 78 circle, “Happy Father’s Day!”

Thank God for Father’s Day–a day out of 365 to honor FATHERS, to thank them, to appreciate them, to hug them, to kiss them, to give love to them, and so many more. Gee!!! Shouldn’t every day be Father’s Day?

Oh, here, I am re-posting below a Poem for Dad, written by Monica in 2001 but holds true to this day.

Most people often think
That being a dad is easy,
Because fathers never
break down and go crazy.

They do not shop to ease their minds,
nor do they go on diets;
Except mine who takes “BLUE CAPSULES”
(Although he denies it.)

Carrying a baby for 9 months
is really far from easy,
But try giving piggy-back rides
… Until you turn 50!

Or get up in the morning
To get the kids ready,
And discover them with their Playstation
Their eyes glued to the TV!

Or giving them rides to and from
Their respective schools,
Even though some don’t study
And always break the rules!

And when the kids call him
And say “Pick me up at 7″
He arrives an hour early,
And they show up at 11!

I may not be the best kid,
But for all it’s worth:
If they ask which one’s my father?
“Mine’s the best on Earth”

And even though these words,
I may not often say–
I really, REALLY love you dad
In each and every way.
Happy Father’s Day!
