The D Spot

On our way to Manaoag yesterday, we passed by hubby’s Dairy Farm in Pangasinan (nay, not his–but he is managing it, well, not really–the international NGO he works with pays people to manage it and show the local farmers the how tos of dairy farming).

It is Farmville for Real (not FB Farmville).

Oh yes, the kids had fun! They fed the calves (baby cows, that is), they admired the heifers and the bulls, they had fun in the haystack (needles, anyone?), viewed the silos (now I know how a silo looks like), watched in amazement the white/spotted, black and brown cows, and almost brought home a puppy (they are fed with cow’s milk–lots of it).

Twenty five years ago, their Kuya (Angelo) and Ate (Mox) had all the chance to see these animals in the farm during our out of town trips–the carabaos, the goats, the cows, the hens, the pigs, the monkeys…but now–most of the time the kids see them only on pictures, on magazines, on the Internet, and yes, on Farmville. How I wish it were different…how I wish there were more lush greens, more grass for them to graze..how I wish it were not so hot!how I wish we all cared for Mother Earth……how I wish…

Now, Farmville for real, anyone?
