For making the wrong decisions
Ctrl+Alt+Del

For being in the wrong place at the wrong time
Ctrl+Alt+Del

For trusting too much and being blinded by emotions
Ctrl+Alt+Del

For being insensitive and hurting the feelings of others
Ctrl+Alt+Del

When goals are not met and schedules go haywire
Ctrl+Alt+Del

When emotions run high and anticipations run dry
Ctrl+Alt+Del

For struggles, sickness, pain, death
Ctrl+Alt+Del

Life would have been easy if Ctrl+Alt+Del worked, but such is not life. One has to deal with each and every action, with each twist and turn, with each pain and hurt, with each challenge. One cannot just turn off one’s feelings and hold emotions at bay. One cannot just let things run in auto mode and be irresponsible. But sometimes, one has to let go. Why? Because no matter how much one tries, if things are bound not to happen, they will not. Even if one does not try at all, if things are bound to happen, they will. Such is fate. Such is life.

Between wakefulness and sleep, burning fever, runny nose, and watery eyes, thoughts ran into my mind: unclear thoughts, meaningless thoughts, fearful thoughts, sad thoughts, former officemates who left this world this week, a few days apart from each other, brick stones laid one on top of another, then crushing down, hallucinations, illusions, delusions. I had no control of what was happening inside of me, as I went deeper and deeper into a state of perdition. @/#m%!

I woke up tired and spent from this chaotic and fearful state, my mind not clear, but still, the writer that I was, I came up with the conclusions that:

Life is not always a bed of roses—there are thorns (this is not an original quote, though, but the next ones are).

Dog is woman’s best company—can tell, can feel, can care, is faithful, is loyal, and can make woman feel like she’s #1.

Life is not perfect WiFi—there are interferences, statics and wrong signals.

Life is a beautiful poem—but then it is also an essay, a novel, a critique, a parody, a comedy, a satire.

Life is a song, nay a collection of songs—my song, your song, our song, anybody’s song, as each person has a song to sing and a story to tell.

Life is not only goody goody Hallmark Channel, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network—it is also the harsh realities shown at CNN, BBC, and ABS-CBN, and yes the discoveries of Discovery Channel and wonders of Animal Planet.

Life is full of surprises—high now, low afterwards, low now, high afterwards, but still it goes on and on and on to the next high, to the next low, to the next high to the next low.

Alive today, gone the next day, just like pfffft! we can never tell. Might as well live today as if it were the last.

While in bed writing this draft on paper and reading it aloud, daughter Chato said in amusement, “Mom, ipahinga mo na lang po yan, Itulog mo na lang po” (Mom, just take rest and sleep on it). She must have the impression that I was losing my mind. Anyway, I took the advice of the young and the restless—I went to sleep again.

Ctrl+Alt+Del
It didn’t work
Ctrl+Alt+Del
It does not work
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Oh my, it will not work, no matter how I try!
More so, Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn’t work on Mac (thanks, Toe!).

Wouldn’t it be great if we could just press Ctrl+Alt+Del…true but sadly not possible. Personally, I have learned that when I am faced with a crisis that I can’t seem to solve, I just set aside for a while. A little break from the mundane can sometimes help me face it again with a stronger will and a better resolve :D

Sexy Mom: True, Cookie, just a little breather and soon one’s mind is more lucid, ready to tackle the crisis.

Hope you get well soon Dine. Usually when I am faced with stress, I go to the gym, then the salon then spa. I take a break from work. And PLURK! join us at Plurk

Sexy Mom: Am much better now, Noems, thanks. Gym, salon, the good life—pampers the body, kinda refreshing. Plurk? Tried it once, i guess it’s not for me, I got so tired looking at those icons and opening the updates. lol

Sexy Moooooom…. you can’t use ctrl-alt-del on your Maaaac! :)

Sexy Mom: ha ha ha, Toe, yes Ctrl+Alt+Del does not work on Mac. I just close it down and lt it sleeeeep!

I believe that there’s an equivalent of a Ctrl+Alt+Del for people. And it’s spelled as p-r-a-y-e-r. Nothing beats the power of a meditative, sincere prayer! ;)

Sexy Mom: I totally agree. Nothing beats the power of p-r-a-y-e-r, Kathy.

    ctrl+alt+del whenever there’s a problem?
    I’d press F1 :P

Sexy Mom: or just shut it down?

it’s weird but i also have this thinking na sana parang keyboard yung buhay where you can use the backspace to go back where you’ve been wrong, that you can press undo like you did nothing.

the only problem with ctrl+alt+del is that it can make your pc hanged, just like life, a quick fix is not recommended.

Sexy Mom: That is the reason why God has given us the gift of intelligence, so as not to resort to a quick fix at all times. Such is life, we handle it with care.

Ctrl+Alt+Del works for people also. The only reason why it doesn’t work is that we think differently.

If we can control (Ctrl) what we can and let loose what we can’t,
If we alter (Alt) what we can, and leave what we cant,
If we can Delete (Del) what is useless and retain what is important

then, Ctrl+Alt+Del will work with human beings as well.

I’d say, living life could be complex, living life could be simple, we just need to decide which one.

none of us know if we are getting it right (or getting it wrong), but all we can do is try. try to live life.

Sexy Mom: well said, myepinoy. in my moments of frustrations and low moments, i must have thought only about the one side of Ctrl+Alt+Del—the quick fix and the dark side that shuts everything down, that destructs all that have been there, even the beautiful memories, achievements, anticipations. but at the back of my mind, i knew that it would certainly work. yes, Ctrl+Alt+Del does wonders, with a positive frame of mind and a firm resolve to live each passing day to the fullest. it’s all a matter of choice.

Try to live life, one day at a time….

Sexy Mom: Yes, one day at a time….

  9. Girlie on July 10th, 2008 8:14 pm

...and yet LIFE is still wonderful!

Phase lang yan, paminsan-minsan kelangan natin mag emote ika nga, but i’m sure there’s a lot in store…hayyy buhay!

Sexy Mom: LIFE is wonderful, Girlie. ha ha ha “mag emote”—you’re indeed hip and cool!

Beautiful comment Myepinoy. Hope you’re feeling better Sexy Mom. When things get tough, I just keep moving forward and never look back.

Sexy Mom: thanks, Jayme, am much better now. but in moving forward, won’t it be nice to look back at the nice thoughts? the precious moments? the good life?

I am the walking ctrl + alt + delete. i thought tita Dine have just made a post about me, jk.

pagaling po kayo.. singgaling at sigla ng lavender na blog header nyo.

Sexy Mom: Yup, dimaks, while writing this post, i was thinking about your Ctrl+Alt+Del all the time, and was wondering why it was your blog’s name. was it looking the way that i was at that moment, or was it purely the techie side of it. and yes, malaki na ang iginaling ko, at malapit na ulit maging kasing galing at kasing sigla ng lavender sa header ko na nilikha mo.
