It’s almost Christmas, and I would like to greet you all, my dear loved ones–Family, Friends and Readers–MALIGAYANG PASKO sa inyong lahat!
Christmas has always been a time for Filipinos all over the world to come together and celebrate as a family–no matter what. It’s a tradition never broken, despite the fact that each passing year has generally become difficult in terms of the nation’s economy, even world-wide crises. This is the reason why at this time of year the economy seems to pick up, with spendings here and there, telcos raking in millions and millions of pesos from text messages greeting families and friends, from families wanting to connect with each other–Filipinos scattered in various parts of the world.
Christmas has also been the time of year when Filipinos become more generous, sharing gifts, time and resources with those who have less in life, the poor, the orphaned babies, street children, prisoners, the abused and maltreated, the homeless, those with physical deformities, fire victims, etc.
Christmas has become many more–reconciliations, get togethers, reunions, homecomings, parties, gimmicks, good time, vacation.
And above all, Christmas is the way it should really be–all for HIM who came to earth more than 2,000 years ago to be one with mankind. It is HIS coming on earth that we celebrate more than the traditions, more than the reunions, more than the family gatherings. As we pause for a while from our daily struggles in earning our keep, let the real meaning of Christmas reign in our hearts–JESUS. Let our lives be a renewal of HOPE, LOVE and PEACE.

CHRISTMAS IN OUR HEARTS (by Jose Mari Chan)
Whenever i see girls and boys selling lanterns on the street
I remember the child in the manger as he sleeps
Whenever there are people giving gifts exchanging cards
I believe that christmas is truly in there hearts
So let’s light our christmas trees for a bright tomorrow
Were nations are at peace,
And all are one in god
Chorus:
Let’s sing merry christmas and a happy holiday
The seaeson may we never forget the love we have for jesus
Let him be the one to gide us as another new year starts
And may the spirit of christmas be always in our hearts
In every prayer in every song
The community unites celebrating the birth of our savior jesus christ
Let love like that starlight on that first christmas morn
Lead us back to the manger where christ the child was born
So come let us rejoice
Come and sing the christmas carol with one big joyful voice
Proclaim the name of the lord
Chorus:
Let’s sing merry christmas and a happy holiday
The seaeson may we never forget the love we have for jesus
Let him be the one to gide us as another new year starts
And may the spirit of christmas be always in our hearts
Chorus:
Let’s sing merry christmas and a happy holiday
The seaeson may we never forget the love we have for jesus
Let him be the one to gide us as another new year starts
And may the spirit of christmas be always in our hearts
