Soulful Thoughts

The moment I saw this flower when we had that beach holiday in Bicol a few weeks ago, I just fell in love with it. We were then on our way back to Manila, and dropped by the house of my husband’s aunt. One of my kids asked me if I wanted it—plucked from its stem, to be appreciated while we were on the road back to Manila. I said, no, let it bask in the sunlight, let it be appreciated by many.
Look at it’s purity—white, with red and yellow in all its glory? I just felt I had to post the picture, with or without any story. Isn’t this how we sometimes like to be? pure in thoughts, devoid of inner struggles, devoid of material wants, or needs for that matter, simply in bloom, at peace with oneselves? I see this flower as a perfect creation of God.
Yet, this state is but temporary. In the same way as the flower will wilt, we too undergo changes in ourselves. One moment we are at peace, another moment some issues or matters come up that need our attention or decisions. One moment content, another moment desiring in material things or pleasures. What matters most is how we manage these changes, how we come up with positive and gainful deeds and attitudes out of any given situation. Oh, well, Sexy Mom is in a soulful mood, but really, I just wanted to post the picture of this flower.

the flower is beautiful. just like you
it really is a beautiful flower. thanks for sharing. =)
Hi Tita I am finally back from hiatus day ! I don’t have green thumbs but I know how to appreciate plants and flowers ! It’s the first time I see this kind of flower, parang gumamela po sya !
Life is a constant change! There are changes that aren’t easy but it could be good depending on how we see the positive side of it
!
Very nice. I hope to see one like that to add to my macro shot collection of flowers. Is this a gumamela?
We can take the flower analogy further.
It gives its beauty freely to all who care to appreciate it, like God giving us grace, if we are open to receive it.
The flower wilts and gives up its life that new plants may grow – just as Jesus gave His life for us that we may live.
And now that I think about the flower, it makes my day brighter. Thanks for this nice wonderful pic.
Hi SexyMom..it is indeed a lovely shot of a lovely flower. I agree with you on your take on purity and it being a temporary state. Don’t we all look forward to those moments when we are free from any worries, doubts, or fears. It’s these sacred moments that give us the strength to face all our adversities when they come. Thanks for this post..it was a recharging experience
it looks like a gumamella to me. is it?
hi sexymom, your post is inspiring. it made me feel more at ease with the way I breeze through life. the flower is beautiful and so feminine.
the flower is indeed beautiful. ngayon lang ako nakakita ng ganyang variety ng gumamela.
btw, i got your email. many thanks. pero i might not be able to make it. sa susunod na lang po. take care!!
Beautiful flower!
It looks like a hibicus though, Malaysia’s national flower but ours is red in color.
And your post is inspiring. It made my day tita!

Ang galing talaga nung kumuha niyan. Diba mama? Wahahahaha
Beautiful flower indeed!
beautiful flower, beautiful color, which symbolizes purity.
awesome pic and entry!
I can understand why you call it perfection.
it is also geometrically perfect.
i like the background the most. looks like there is more hidden thoughts in it
nag iisa lang ba yung bulaklak? siguro kung ako yun di ko mapigilan sarili ko to pick it, it’s really beautiful.
lovely
It’s beautiful! I haven’t seen a hibiscus with this kind of color before. I’ve seen red, pink, yellow and peach but not white. Thanks for sharing this magnificent shot.
I’ve seen alot of varieties of Gumamela or Hibiscus but never have I seen a very striking one like this one. It looks like the flower has a heart.
It looks like a white gumamela to me. But I haven’t seen a white gumamela in my entire existence.
Beautiful indeed!
a nice flower….it is pure white….shows of Purity…..
Like what you say at the last paragraph.
Thank you for sharing, dine…...
