Update: UPCAT Results Online for SY 2009-2010

Online ACET Results and Online UPCAT Results for SY 2010-2011

UPDATE:

24 January 2009:  List of CANDIDATES FOR INTARMED PROGRAM and OBLATION SCHOLAR AWARDEES are now posted online and the Office of Admissions.

17 January 2008 the results are NOW ONLINE and POSTED AT THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS IN UP.

(10:50 pm): Office of Admission has announced that it has set up 2 mirror sites

UPCAT Results 2009 Mirrors Set Up.
To ease the UPCAT server’s load the following mirrors are set up:
Mirror 1
Mirror 2

I tried it for my daughter’s result (read the DISCLAIMER), and here’s what I found:

(7:50 am) Right now, in between, the website cannot be accessed because of the heavy traffic, perhaps. I suggest that you go to UP Office of Admission if you have the time.

TO THOSE WHO SENT ME THEIR NAMES, PLEASE REFER TO THE COMMENT BOX BELOW–I POSTED THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO PASSED AND THOSE WITH PENDING STATUS.

CONGRATULATIONS to my daughter, Chato (Angela Marie). She passed the course, Family Life and Child Development, the first step to her dream of becoming a doctor someday.

I remember 3 years ago, about 11,000 passed the UPCAT nationwide out of the about 70,000 testers, while about 5,000 were accepted in UP Diliman. The truth is, and we have to accept it, is that there are more who will not be accepted–not that they failed the test, but because they did not meet the cut off. But this does not mean that it is the end of one’s dream to go to UP. I know of some students who were accepted in UP for courses that did not require passing the UPCAT or those who transferred to UP after a year in another school. A daughter of a friend appealed, and it was found out that there was something wrong with her documents, she was finally allowed to enrol.

    If there are only 5000 applicants expected to gain passage in UP Diliman, then I guess, these are the cream of the crop so to speak.

    Daddy-o, hindi naman lahat ng pumasa sa UP Diliman ibig sabihin cream of the crop na agad. Iba-ibang courses din naman ang offered sa ibang UP campuses na wala sa UP Diliman. Also, hindi naman ibig sabihin na galing ka sa ibang campus ay lower level ka na compared sa Diliman students. Think of UP Med and allied health courses na sa Manila ang base and the Vet, Agri and science courses sa LB and the Fisheries courses sa Visayas. These campuses also produce top notch students na malaki ang contribution sa pangalan ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas.

    Anyways, sa lahat ng mga pumasa sa UP mabuhay kayo! Enjoy lang ang buhay isko at iska! Mabuhay ang pag-asa ng bayan!

    nope, as far as i know, accepted ka ng campus but not sa courses na napili mo. but you are free to choose another course

    to Sandra:

    Degree Program with Available Slot means that you weren’t accepted to your courses of choice but you r UPG is high enough to get you into the campus. Yun nga lang, not to the course you chose. :)

    ang degree programs w/ available slot, ibig sbhin, qualified sa campus pero di sa 2 course, cguro prehas double-quota or quota course ang course niu..pero UP has reserved a slot 4 u if mageenrol ka, den shift nlng u next sem…

    * – Qualified but applicant has to clear deficiencies with the UP Office of Admissions starting February 2, 2009.

    Moreover, if your name was originally indicated as a pending case but now no longer appears on the list, this means that your case was resolved in favor of non-qualification into any of the campuses of your choice. Your non-qualifier’s slip has been mailed to you c/o your school. You may also contact the office of admissions to check on your UPG as well as the options open to you. We wish you all the best in your endeavors.

    + – Candidate for the Intarmed Program (7-Year Medicine). Instructions: Candidates must get in touch with the U.P. College of Medicine (549 Pedro Gil Street, Ermita, Manila) for further screening and other details. Please contact the UP Office of Admissions.

    INFORMATION FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO DID NOT QUALIFY THROUGH THE UPCAT

    If you did not make it to either of your campus choices you have two options:

    FIRST: You can try other UP campuses IF:
    1 your UPG is within their cut-off, and
    2 they still have available slots.
    Present your Non-Qualifier’s Slip (which has been sent to you in the mail and which indicates your UPG) to the Office of the Registrar of the campus you want to enter. There is NO guarantee of acceptance as each campus makes its own decisions according to its own criteria.

    SECOND: If no UP campus can accommodate you, you may enroll in a college or university other than UP. After earning at least 33 academic units with a weighted average of 2.00 or better in the UP marking system, you may apply for transfer into a UP campus.

    GUIDELINES FOR TRANSFER FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES

    Students with previous college work from another University or College who want to transfer to the University of the Philippines must satisfy all admission requirements of the accepting unit/college. Each campus has its own specific rules regarding transfer and accepts only a limited number of transfer students. Information on transfer to a specific UP unit may be obtained at the Office of the Registrar of the specific UP campuses (see below).

    In general, you may be evaluated for admission as a transfer applicant provided that you: (1) present all academic units earned outside UP for evaluation; (2) have completed, outside the University, at least 33 academic units equivalent to UP courses; (3) meet the general weighted average (GWA) of the program applied for; Depending on the campus and degree program, the GWA requirement can be as high as 1.5, 1.75 or 2.0 for all the collegiate academic units taken outside UP (excluding vocational courses). University rules prescribe a minimum GWA of 2.0, 86%, or B for transfer admission into any program in the University. (4) satisfy other admission requirements of the admitting college/unit prescribed for each degree program such as an interview, a talent test or a written or oral examination; and (5) fall within the quota of the program at the time of application; Applicants shall be ranked according to the criteria set by the admitting program and the cut-off shall be determined by the college/unit based on their quota.

    IMPORTANT: You will have to complete in the University at least 50% of the units required in the program. ALL upper division courses should be taken in the University.
    To graduate with honors, you have to complete 75% of the required number of units and must be in residence for at least 2 years prior to graduation.

    For information regarding:

    (1) programs closed to transfer students,
    (2) programs accepting transfer students,
    (3) requirements to be submitted,
    (4) submission of entrance credentials,
    (5) validation for advanced credits, etc.

    inquire directly at the Office of the Registrar of the specific UP campus.

    Here are my answers for some of the questions here..:

    David a.: parehas tayo! DPAS din ako. Ang ibig sabihin ng DPAS, ay bumagsak ka sa quota ng course na pinasukan mo. Pero your UPG is high enough para maging qualifier sa UP.(Remember, qualifier lang tayong lahat!) Pag may libreng slot pa sa kahit anong course, dun ka ipapasok. Para kang waiting list sa UP. Pero sure nmn na my free slot pa jan.. maraming hindi mag-aaral sa UP… Believe!!!

    Marife Gracilla: So sad that your sister did not make it. But still, don’t lose hope. Diba pinadalhan nmn siya ng letter ng UP na nagpapakita ng UPG niya? If her UPG is high enough para makapasok sa UP, pede siyang maging waiting list. Ano bang UP siya? KAsi 2.8 ang sa UPLB, 2.5 ang sa UP MAnila, 2.6 sa UP Visayas… yun lang alam ko eh…!
    Bawal nang ilakad sa UP Diliman…
    Or another option is…. mag-aral muna siya sa ibang school… she must take 32 units and for one sem, she must have an average of 2…

    dso: To shift to another course… kailangan mo munang mag-aral ng Chem for 1 sem… then shift to another course se 2nd sem.! ang pangit dito ay sure na october ka gagraduate.. kasi sa second sem mo, kukunin mo nmn ang lahat ng first sem ng ChemEng… kaya parang nagaksaya ka lang ng ors sa first sem mo… GETS???!!!

    I’m an upcoming UPCAT taker po..
    I just worry about the 40% of UPG..
    kasi po,I’m a PEPT Passer(I didn’t take my 2nd yr HS,i skipped it)..tapos,medyo mababa pa po ang grade,mga 82.8 po ang ave. ko sa PEPT.
    Pero ngayong 3rd year ko po,malaki po ang nabawi ko(grades) dahil nag-enroll npo ako s isang school at proud nmn po ako dhil leading dn po ako at candidate sa pagiging valedic. How does this affect my UPG? Malaki prin po b chance ko makapasa sa UPCAT?Thanks po..hoping for your reply..

    @ Nicole, I think that degree program available slot means that you qualified for the campus, but you will have to wait for courses that have available slots. :)

    i just found this site and i hope na this is still “active”.

    di po ako pumasa ng upcat pero nakapasok ako bilang waiting list sa UPLB and i will have my interview regarding the courses that i chose in the said campus next week… tanong ko lng po if pano nga ba ung process nung “waitinglist thing”, di po kasi malinaw sakin. regarding naman po doon sa onterview do you have any suggestions about it?
