Life Imitates Art? From American Dreamz to American Idol

The movie American Dreamz was a black comedy/satire that spoofed the cultural phenomenon American Idol. It portrayed a clueless president who became so unpopular, that he resorted to appearing on the show just to win back the approval of the people. It seemed so absurd, that we laughed til we cried, even on our third viewing.

Last week, Idol raised around $70,000,000 for charities around the world, and what they did was amazing. This made Idol even closer to the hearts of not only Americans, but everyone else. It seems that everything that Idol touches turns to gold.

And guess what? Earlier, while watching the real American Idol (Blake was AWESOME!), we saw, commending the people for their contributions… don’t laugh now…none other than George W. Bush himself.

Hmmmmmmmm….........

my favorite Jordan Sparks, who is from AZ, didn’t do too good last night and she may go home tonight.

yes, Blake was awesome last night. he took a leap of faith and it paid off.

sexy mom: happy you – Jordan Sparks is still in! AI becomes more and more exciting now!

heehee, maybe Bush got the idea from watching the film…he needs popularity badly =)

    sexy mom: isn’t it obvious?

I think life is all about art and without art, things would have been pretty much dull.

    [:

    sexy mom: i agree, Kyels.

Yes that was strange to see George W on American Idol.

His PR managers probably thought it might be a good publicity stint to boost his low ratings to have him appear on the most popular show at the moment.

    sexy mom: maybe…

American Dreamz … I got to see that one. Sounds like a funny film worth watching. A good laugh is always good for the heart.

Wow, George W. Bush himself? How interesting! He must have realized the impact of AI on the people.

Thanks Dine for visiting my blog earlier. Have a great weekend!

The part when Celine Dion and Elvis Presley sang was really amazaing…Kung meron sa You Tube I’ll definitely download it.

Yes Mam Blake was good. Though Melinda is really a tough contender…

Jordin Sparks is my favorite. I get goosebumps when she hits the high notes. She didn’t do well last Tuesday, but she’s still in. Hopefully, she’ll still be there till the last 3 of them are left.

Yes, I saw that one, George Bush and his lady. and I half expected him to sing. LOL

I like Melinda and Jordan and Blake. I like Phil too .. sayang, he was kicked offf.

But I like Simon the best—he is a show by himself. Parang si Mel Gibson only funnier and younger. His one or two liners are devastating but elegant. I wish I could document them. I’d die if I were at the receiving end of one, though.

You must have seen that episode where Celine Dion did a duet with Elvis Presley. Omg. How did they do that? Grabe talaga ang technology.

American Idol is the only tv show i watch nowadays. I am glad its doing its thing to give back to the world.

I’ve only watched two episodes of the current Idol season. And those episodes were auditions pa, hehe. But I heard the “Idol Gives Back” episode was great.
