Jason Magbanua’s Weddings–Breathe of Fresh Air

No, Jason Magbanua has not had multiple weddings! Only one wedding I suppose. But he has covered a lot of weddings—weddings that seem to be made in heaven, the way Jason showcases them in his videos. Jason is a wedding videographer (but he also does debuts, etc). He is One of the 25 Most Influential Videographers in the World (for two straight years), and he is proud to be Filipino.
Since June 2007 when he linked one of my posts on the Shrine of St. Therese, I saw to it that I watched his wonderful and magical videos, which never failed to amaze me. One of them was the wedding of Paulynn Chang and Paul Afable, that brought tears to our eyes.
Weddings are sweet, awesome and inspiring. And wedding anniversaries are sweeter, more awesome and more inspiring. The most recent one was that of Boy and Shalene Cruz’s 40th wedding anniversary. I do not know the couple personally, but their video speaks for itself—the sparkle in the couple’s eyes do not lie, so do the joy of the family members and friends that was caught on video. It is but a reminder that “there’s a long hard (yet sweet) road ahead.”
These are the sort of videos that one would appreciate in times when we are amidst all the troubles in the world, our country, and even one’s inner turmoils. These are the videos we would appreciate and would inspire that marriages are supposed to last, that marriages are supposed to work, and that the wedding vows made on wedding days are not just words and lip service, but vows, to love and to hold….until death do us part.
My daughter, Monica said she wanted Jason to cover her wedding, and Jason said he would be delighted to do so, but that would be at least 5 years down the road. In the meantime, my daughters and I just follow Jason’s weddings, and look forward to the next ones.
He will be in New York in October to mix business with pleasure. And If you’re looking for a videographer for your wedding, you could give him a heads up.
By the way, this is not a sponsored post. I just wanted to share some thoughts nice and beautiful (reminds of of a poem when I was a little girl), a breathe of fresh air in this cool first of August morning.
