What is in Black?

In yesterday’s creative writing class, Barbara asked us to write a vignette focusing on color images (choose one color), allowing them to reflect the full range of the senses. I could not make up my mind, thus I wrote
daring challenges in red
burning desires of crimson
yellow stars of success
patriotism in red, while and blue
the pink of health
pastels soothing to the eyes
the refreshing green
magical silver that mesmerizes
sadness in gray
serenity in blue
innocence in white
mystery in lavender
violet that tickles
red orange flames of intense hatred
i am surprised!
combine all colors
you get the elegance of black
but it shrouds
it dims
devoid of vibrance
devoid of life
There is so much to write about, yellow submarines, garden greens, pink hearts, red hearts, multi-colored tribal tattoos, rainbow connections, ocean blue. What a feast there is in colors.

I used to hate color black. I learned to love and appreciate it when I started gaining weight…hahaha!
I think it turned out rather well, rather than you having to decide on one color. lol
Do you get grades or something pala?
that’s a nice poem…
i’m just wond’rin.. isn’t black the absence of all colors?
nice one again Dine! Thanks for sharing. My favorite wardrobe colors are white and black. When I wear black outfit, I feel sexy and elegant. When I wear white, I feel pure, fresh, and magical.
Blacks dominate in the realm of shadows
Awesome composition on the colors sezy mom!
Oops pardon me for the wrong spelling…
I must also add, I only see multi-colored shadows in the digital media but not in real life objects
just thinking aloud.
Hi Sexy mom
.. you nailed it! top marks for a great poem.
I agree with you Anna, I learned to love black too, especially after 2 kids.
oh, sorry, Ann.. apologies.
makes one realize how much meanings color have from your poem. 1st lesson pa lang yan ha. Good work! a big star for you!
Hi Sexymom,
Nice blog!
I love your poem, and I guess colors can really inspire one to be poetic.
i read in “Mr. God this is Anna” that a flower, for example, projects the color it repels. I think it means that if a gumamela is red, red is the color that it doesn’t have inside. Oooh am i making sense? I thought of it just now but my memory may be playing tricks. I wonder if Sexy Mom’s other readers would know if there is truth to this.
thanks Maripe and Gypsy for visiting.
anna – that’s interesting, at least for flowers. i am too transparent, that one immediately knows my moods in the color that i am in.
You’re becoming a good poet. Nice one.
