H O P E

as certain as the sun sets, so will it rise the next day
the pain in our hearts may go away, it may stay
they say that time heals, but for how long?
i wait, we all wait, but right now it is a pain so strong
embedded into the recesses of our very beings
the tears may have dried but still there are things
that we cannot fathom but try to accept
all that is left are memories in our hearts best kept
reminding us that no matter how short
they were still happy moments for all they are worth
and we can only be thankful when we look back
to the innocent smile and the warmth, it was pure luck
life has to go on, and slowly we rise from this deep fall
love will keep us together, we hope, again we will be whole
yes, the pain in our hearts may go away, it may stay
but as certain as the sun sets, so will it rise the next day.

the pain never goes away like love never dies. we just learn to live with the pain and make life bearable. There is joy, hope in this new life without our loved one.

I beg to differ. The pain dulls then eventually goes away. Recovery is not linear nor straightforward but rather a circular stair case. Just when you feel you are healed the pain recurs. But you reach an end to mourning … eventually. Sure as the sun rises after the night.

I dunno .. it may be too early for some.

The picture of the sunset is too lovely for words, Dine.

Hi Dine!! No matter what has happened, life will definitely go on. And by living our life in the best way we can, we continue to honor the memory of those we will always love but lost. I’m sure they would have wanted it this way. Cheer up, at least you know that your family has a very special angel always looking out for you :)

BTW, the poem is beautiful and very touching.

BTW again, you’ve been awarded :)

when my brother died i too felt pain i have never felt before and i thought it would never leave. the pain got easier to handle when i accepted His will, but it is still there when i think of him. i think it will never go away.

The allegory of endless hope, I believe Ms. Dine. Someone may go, yet someone else will surely come.

Oh, Dine, I’m crying again. I have just cried moments ago about another child’s death that I have written as a post.

You find hope and joy and love in your family. Now, more than ever, you are made stronger not just for yourself, but for your family as well.

    Take care.

Pain will never go away so does love. For as long as we live, the memory of our loved ones will stay within.

    Beautiful poem, beautiful words, Dine.
Meaningful picture, too. With time, the feeling of hurt and pain will diminish to almost nothing, though not completely, but the memories and events that cause it will forever remain. It is always good to focus on the good and happy ones.

It’s a beautiful picture and beautiful words. I believe that hope gives us reason to hang on. It helps us see the promise of a better tomorrow. God bless you and your whole family.

    from Anthony de Mello:

Pleasant experiences make life delightful. Painful experiences lead to growth.

This might not be related to the post but I guess this one tells us something about moving on.

I enjoy it on a non-clinging basis. What I really enjoy is not you; it’s something that’s greater than both you and me. It is something that I discovered, a kind of symphony, a kind of orchestra that plays one melody in your presence, but when you depart, the orchestra doesn’t stop. When I meet someone else, it plays another melody, which is also very delightful. And when I’m alone, it continues to play. There’s a great repertoire and it never ceases to play.

    I love the poem.

as they say time and time again, time heals all wounds…
I hope your family gets through this eventually, just think of how happy he made you all feel in his short but very loved life…
