SAMSUNG CHEERDANCE COMPETITION
UP won 1st place (92.66 pts) in Sunday’s Cheerdance Competition breaking UST’s 4-year record. UST took 2nd place with just 0.5 points behind UP, and FEU 3rd with 91.66 pts. Rest of the ranking was: ADMU in 4th place, ADU 5th, UE 6th, DLSU 7th and NU 8th. CONGRATULATIONS!
The criteria were choreography: 50%, synchronization: 30%, audience audability: 10% and costume: 10%.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Congratulations to NU. Last night’s victory over ADMU (winning by 8 points after an overtime) was for them euphoria—like winning the championships despite the fact that they rank #6 (out of 8). They played well, by the way. And it changed the whole scenario for the play-offs in the semi-finals. ADMU had to cancel its planned Tagaytay chill out in the evening. Had they won last night, they would have clearly havd the twice-to-beat advantage for a play off against UE in the finals.
It was just meant to be—Ateneo vs La Salle III. Now, it will not only be a play off between UST and FEU for the 4th place on Monday, 17 September. It will be a grand playoff between ADMU and DLSU at the Araneta, as they are tied for the 2nd and 3rd place in the eliminations on Tuesday, 18 September at the Araneta. It will be ADMU-DLSU’s 3rd meet this season, with the winner earning a twice-to-beat advantage in the finals.
The winner of Monday’s UST-FEU game will face Thursday’s loser (ADMU-DLSU) in a right to play with the winner (ADMU-DLSU) in the semi-finals. The winner in the ADMU-DLSU game needs to win just once in the semi-finals to advance to the finals in the best-of-three series. This is gettig to be complicated for me. But anything ADMU-DLSU is always welcome and exciting.
And don’t forget the cheering competition—it will be tomorrow at 3 pm at the Araneta. This will be the time for UP to shine, and show their best.
With a few more days to go before the UST-FEU games and ADMU-DLSU games, let us have fun! C’mon tell me your best guess:
UST or FEU?
ADMU or DLSU?
My wildest guess: FEU will win over UST by as much as 5 points. And Ateneo will win over La Salle, by 3 points.

hi dime, my best guess is that UE will win the championship
just to share the text message circulating among the greenies after the ADMU loss to NU:

UE’s sweep had really created this complicated mix-up but it did make this year’s UAAP basketball tourney a very interesting one…
parang pinagkakakitaan na masyado ang rivalry..ayoko ng ganitong klaseng ka bulastugan. klarong klaro pwede talunin ang NU last saturday, pero nagpatalo para kumita ang araneta for the ADMU-DLSU playoff.hahay. this is my opinion though.
congratulation UP MAROONS! for winning the no. 1 spot in cheering competition… start na yan then tuloy-tuloy na po yan.. just be humble always and most mindanao love your cheering than others…

I know that UE will win season 70 and when that happens, It will be a fitting climax for the UAAP if we can have UE vs UAAP All Star or UE vs LaSalle-Ateneo Selection. what do you think mga Burgis? ENIE of AIM
In basketball… when it comes to two evenly matched teams such as ADMU vs DLSU, it’s always almost impossible to Win 3 in a row (in the case of ADMU). I think the archers are gonna come out ticked off, ready to avenge their losses and Win when it counts. I give DLSU the “W” by 2pts.
