As my regular readers, you would probably know that I have resigned from my work, effective 13 February because of personal reasons. I was very happy with my work, until…let’s leave it at that. I am probably one of the very few people who gave up her job amidst the global economic crisis. Who in his or her right frame of mind, you ask, would turn his or her back to a regular income received every 15th and 30th? Yes, I am one of the rare ones who stood by my decision to leave.
And you know what I found out? Our world is truly a huge world. I am not speaking of our world that we physically move in. I am talking about our wide wide world—the world wide web, where information is spread in the Internet. Now, there is no single word, no single place, no single occurrence that we want to learn about that is not in the world wide web.
When we talk about business oportunities—everything is there, from menial jobs to executive and luxurious jobs, things for sale, services for hire, and many many more, including scammers. It is a matter of knowing what you are looking for, knowing your skills, how and where to find what you want to find, including gainful employment and jobs. This means that for those who are out of job, it is not the end of the world.
I have been in the online business for a while now, and this includes writing for networks and individuals, but these past two weeks, I have found a lot of many other online opportunities. Now also, I am experiencing the truth about “paying it forward”. Do good deeds, even without expecting anything in return, and sooner or later, you will be the recipient of a good deed. The world is round, up once, down next, up again…life goes on and on and on… I have been getting a lot of referrals from my friends and network, even from people I do not know.
If you want my advice, I am just an email, a blog, or a plurk away. Oh, if you want to know, I am again active with consultancy—anything you want to know about new media, virtual assisting, home based jobs, call centers, writing, including how to be an effective manager (LOL) and many more.
Now, just look out for the scammers, the fakers, and those who want to pay so little for quality service. Never never deal with these people.

Not everyone has the courage to make the decision you did Tita amidst this economic crisis and they all too have mouths to feed but I applaud your standings and reasons why you left the job. Sometimes, as humans we have to do what we think/feel is right so that we can gain satisfaction in the end and maybe self-fulfillment?
(:

I’m nearing that point, too. Hopefully, when it does, I’ll have at least half your courage to face tomorrow and the conviction that there is a brighter future.
Good luck in your endeavors, Tita Dine!

Hi Dine!
You made a very bold move in resigning from your job, specially in these hard times, but I am sure you have justifiable reasons for doing so. Modesty aside, with your capabilities and wealth of experience, I am also pretty sure you and your family will never go hungry. I did the same four years earlier and quit my job in a leading commercial bank. My wife and I went into business but were not yet fortunate enough to succeed. We are both looking for home-based job opportunities. I had a chance to do home-based editing of English essays by Korean students, but the pay rates are low and editing jobs come few and far between because the company gives priority to their in-house editors first, before us. I would appreciate it if you could help me find better home-based job opportunities.
More power to you and your family… GODBLESS!

You are indeed very courageous to quit your job in these times of crisis. Good luck on your online business!

Tita dine, I felt so down when a Co. for home-based english essay editors turned me down because “I was not proficient in navigating the web.” I passed their qualifying written exam but for this reason I didn’t qualify for the home-based job. I believe, had they given me just a single day to practice, I would have make it. I love editing especially english essays. It’s a dream job for me. Please I need your advice, tita. God bless to you and your family.

Hi mam! I’ve been reading thru your posts and I’m really interested in having a home-based job or to be a virtual assistant. I just don’t know how to go about it. Can you help me please?
I recently gave birth to my son 3 months ago. I am a very hands-on mom thus preventing me from working. Sometimes I feel helpless because it seems to me that I can’t do anything else. I want to be more productive. I want to feel empowered again and not feel so tied up with just being a mom. I know that if I am persistent enough I can do something about it. I know that being a mom is already a handfull and yet I still want to do more, because I know I can do more. Please help! Perhaps you could enlighten me. I want to be able to do what you do, be a mom and work at the same time. You are an inspiration.
More power to you
