Sunday, 8 March is International Women’s Day, a global day of celebration. It is the global day connecting all women around the world and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some countries like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women’s Day is a national holiday.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! to all you, dear mothers, grandmothers, wives, aunts, daughters and friends, a toast to all women all over the world, to those who continue to suffer from all forms of discrimination and abuse, and deprived of the most basic rights.
A toast to us Filipina women, especially to our overseas foreign workers, our present day heroes, who have taken the ultimate sacrifice of leaving their families behind hoping to give them a comfortable life and a good future.
A toast to women leaders all over the world–there are so many good ones by the way, and for those who have gone astray, may they have the discernment to see once and for all the light, courage to step down if they must, for the healing of our land, wounded and divided. May they have the goodness of heart to place the benefit of the people they lead before their very own.
In some countries, men honor their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc. wth flowers and small gifts (IWD is now an official holiday in countries like Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam).
In some countries children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers (IWD has the equivalent status of Mother’s Day). A gesture so touching, so “feel good”, symbolic maybe—wouldn’t you want to be appreciated on such a special day?

if we can’t get in in UP my next two choices will be DLSU,DLSBU(de la salle bacolod university)and west visayas.while my bestfriend’s 2nd choice will be UST.
