Cambodia’s Angkor Wat–an archeological and architectural wonder

Cambodia is now a favorite tourist destination in Asia, actually one of my favorite places. It was ruled by the Khmer Rouge from 1977 to 1980. Millions were killed, as seen in the movie, The Killing Fields.

Angkor Wat is the largest and best preserved monument of Cambodia. It is located in Siem Reap. It is a typical Hindu temple built by Suryavarman 2 who ruled Cambodia in the early 12th century. Angkor Watt is the arguably the most spectacular archeological and architectural site on the planet.

Angkor Wat is a temple surrounded by hundreds of other smaller temples, unique in their own and also worth visiting. The most famous temples are are Angkor Wat, Baryon and Ta Prom.

The Banyon is very impressive, and is visited by a mob of tourists everyday, making it difficult to visit.

Ta Prom has been left to the jungle—the trees and the structure have become one in many areas. This is where the location shooting of Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie, took place.

    Hi Mommy Dine,

Cambodia looks like a great place to visit. It still is shrouded in mystery. You look so cool with the Tomb Raider backdrop. Is this a recent trip because you sure do look sexy ;) with leggings and all.

    Have a great weekend.

Cambodia is on my list of to-see-before-i-die. hopefully I have way to live yet… hehe

Aside from the grandeur and richness of the historical site, what caught me is how slim and sexy you are in those photos! ;-)
