I was surprised and so proud—seeing Arnel Pineda singing with the Journey at pre-game of XLIII Super Bowl. The main attraction for the halftime was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
The matchup is between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Over the years the Super Bowl has become the most-watched U.S. television broadcast of the year, and has become likened to a de facto U.S. national holiday. in addition, many popular singers and musicians (the likes of Prince, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Sting, and many others) have performed during the Super Bowl’s pre-game and halftime ceremonies. Super Bowl Sunday is the second-largest U.S. food consumption day, following Thanksgiving.
Television broadcast rights of the Super Bowl are exclusively each year by only one major network (currently, NBC) in the United States, and the annual broadcast is famous for having the most expensive commercial airtime space of year. As a result, commercial watching during the Super Bowl has also proceeded to become one of the sub-cultures of the annual event.
Makes me so proud of being Filipino! And not to forget the success that Charice Pempengco has been reaping in the US. And yes, there are many others!
Don’t Stop Believin’
Just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
(chorus)
Dont stop believin
Hold on to the feelin
Streetlight people

Bad performance
I expect more from AP. Journey gave him the liberty to do stuff in the side but abuse his privileges buy showing up every week in various TV stations and having mini-concerts in small venues, he is nothing without Journey. He really sounds stressed out, Journey should re-evaluate his performance, because he cannot be sounding like that as the front man. I think he is overdoing him self. I just glad that he was not at the Half time, or every Filipino will be burying their heads underground with shame!

I’ve watched uploaded HD-video clips of Arnel’s performance at the Superbowl. I’ve never been so proud being a pinoy! He delivered an awesome job! Way to go AP! Keep on rocking AP

to pinoy2009, you are spot on! Arnel needs to ditch that Lani Misalucha because she is just riding his coat tails to be known publicly and will tire him out. I don’t even know who the heck is Lani, not even a pinoy household name.
No denying he sounded off a lil bit but great performance otherwise.

hi Dine, my forever friend,
i told my co-workers at work that Journey has now a new singer, and their reaction was “i hope he doesn’t butcher my favorite journey song.” he he.
but, like others, i didn’t see the JOurney perform during the Superbowl. I wonder if they were shown prior to the game, which I didn’t watch.
