Blogging–CLEARly a New Media

Today’s event was a classic case of bloggers immersed with traditional media and public relations people. Jayvee told us a few days ago of Unilever’s product launching, and a fashion show organized by Amor Maclang. Fellow bloggers, Jayvee, Noemi, Aileen, Sasha, Juned and I atended the event at the Renaissance Hotel (formerly New World Hotel). Lunch was great (I miss hotel food—last time I traveled and lived in a hotel was about 10 months ago).
Then, we entered a bubble, ‘twas foggy (thanks to fog machines)—and CLEAR, an anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner was introduced—a CLEAR solution to the dandruff epidemic. A fashion show followed, with 4 sets of models, by Folded and Hung, Viktor, Kate Torralba and Puey Quinones. I used to watch fashion shows only on the Lifestyle Network and read about them on Chase’s and Kyel’s blogs. Now I understand the highs they have in producing and photographing fashion shows. Looking at how lithe these models were—they made me feel obese! A reminder to shed off some unwanted pounds, give me 10 days, I told Noemi.
We went home with a media kit, a stylish box with 4 CLEAR products. Yes, a media kit. Blogging—a new media is indeed being recognized more and more each passing day. Remember Taste Asia?
All in all, it was an entertaining and relaxing day, work has piled up, but I don’t mind, I am still in control of my time. Thanks, Jayvee and Amor for the invite! I am beginning to like PR events as this one, so see you again tomorrow—at the Diamond Hotel!
Noemi, moi, Aileen and Sasha (thanks, Aileen for the photo)
