I have long been looking for a one-stop resource material for A(H1N1) or what is known as swine flu, but most of the materials were either incomplete, too difficult to understand for an ordinary person, or purely statistical.
A lot of people have been in panic or paranoid; schools have suspended class opening; companies have sent home some employees who have been exposed to infected people fro self-quarntine; hospitals have taken precautions (in St. Luke’s Medical Center, all persons going inside the emergency room are provided with masks and alcohol dispensers are placed in strategic areas for both hospital staff, patients and guests); etc.
A(H1N1) or swine flu is a global issue, and everyday, confirmed cases in the Philippines are being reported (now almost 50).
I was so glad to receive an email from a former office mate in the Asian Development Bank which attached what is called “H1N1 Flu Booklet” that was prepared by the United Nations for its staff all over the world. I guess it does not hurt to share it with others–as spreading the word would help a lot of people in terms of educating them about the virus. The booklet has opened my eyes to so many facts about the virus, how the virus is spread, precautions on how to lessen the risk of infection, what to do in case of infection, and many more. It is very detailed, rich in information, and an easy read.
Read here–H1N1 Flu Booklet, straight from the UN.

State of My Health–I am well, thank you! | The D Spot // Jul 3, 2009 at 2:48 am
[...] Lest it be rumored that I am very ill (…and the next is—I am dying), I am sharing with you the state of my health. And I thought that it is only the former president, who is well-loved whose family should be issuing her state of health following treatment for cancer, or PGMA who has been reported to be in a hospital in Muntinglupa City—for removal and replacement of breast silicone implants as reported by the Manila Bulettin online edition, aside from her 2-day self quarantine following her travels abroad. This is part of precautions on the over-hyped A(H1N1) scare. [...]

Interesting stuff. Did you hear that there’s a new strain which is resistant to the anti-flu drugs? Tamiflu etc? Found a really good website for tracking it’s progress, seems to be updated every hour or so… http://www.swinefludeaths.co.uk.
