November 16th, 2009 by Sexy Mom · Viewed 1711 times · 2 Comments

Blog Watch hosted by Vibal Foundation’s Philippine Online Chronicles will be formally launched, in the presence of traditional and new media on 24 November 2009, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Max’s Restaurant in Bel-Air, Makati City.

Blog Watch intends to cover underplayed stories in various formats (podcast, video, articles, commentaries) that will complement traditional media, such as stories that promote voters’ education and automated elections, campaign fund sources and expenditures, background of candidates, personal background, political background. This will be different from the past 2004 election where focus was on celebrities, scandals, election violence, mudslinging, exchange of accusations between parties, and where politicians have become “entertainers”, campaigns have become talent show, and even candidates have come in the form of “contestants”.

Blog Watch hopes to give a good caliber of media coverage in helping build credibility in the results of the 2010 election. Its contributors include: Noemi Dado, of A Filipina Mom Blogger, Jane Uymatiao of Here’s to Life!, Sonnie Santos of Sonnie’s Porch, Dine Racoma of The D Spot, Vincent Golangco of When in Manila, Carlo Ople of New Media Philippines, Marck Rimorin of The Marocharim Experiment, Rochelle Sy Chua, Juned Sunido of Baratillo @ Cubao, Fritz Tenatativa of Fritzified, Leslie Bocobo, Brian Ong of The Philippines and Beyond, Victor Villanueva of Bikoy.Net, Dean Jorge Bacobo of Philippine Commentary, Pierre Tito Galla of Jester in Exile, Karen Ang of Bury me in this dress, AnnaManla of Ode2Old, Wyatt Belmonte of Wyatt’s Kitchen, and Blogie Robillo of Blogie Blog.
