Wishing Oneself to Dream

Tomorrow, Friday, is another creative writing session with Barbara (Tweetums) Gonzales. Our assignment is to write about a dream, preferably a current dream. Until now, except for one blurry dream, I have not yet had a lucid dream that I could recall when I wake up. Each night since Friday last, I would wish myself to dream, so that I could write a witty piece that I can read in class.
I had a very vague dream. I saw myself as a new mother to a baby boy (gosh! an 8th child). Not that I am averse to another baby, but in real life, gynecologically, I can’t anymore have another. Soon, I forgot about the baby and was on my way for a cosmetic surgery in Washington DC. That’s all I can remember, everything is hazy.
Maybe, that’s what dreams are all about, flitting from one image to another. Flitting from one subconscious thought to another. When I am awake, I dream of nice things in life, salon, spa, shopping, holidays, travel, even cosmetic surgery, ranging from practicalities to the vain.
Tonight is my last night to wish for a dream, I am beginning to get jittery. What if I do not dream? I would probably write about a dream dreamt while wide awake.

Hi sexy mom….
Yeah we tend to forget our dreams when we wake up. But there are some dreams that are sooo clear that we can retell it even after many hours.
They say dreams are wishful thinkings…I think that explains the cosmetic surgery
Anyway hope you’ll have a nice dream tonight so that you can submit something really good.
Oh I want to learn creative writing. How does one enrol with her? I wish you are able to dream tonight. Just relax. Think happy thoughts.
I was going to ask the same question by noemi ^. Please share how we can get into one of her classes.
Good luck with the dream, hope you remember it tomorrow. I’ve never been able to recount my dreams in detail, which my hubby is able to do amazingly! He remembers even the small details.
noemi and chateau – why don’t we organize a creative writing class for bloggers? it will be an excuse to get together.
Barbara (Tweetums) may be contacted at 09178155570 or by email at lilypad@skyinet.net
thanks, verns and Chateau, i will try my best to dream (LOL)
Sometimes I can recall my dreams when I wake up but oftentimes, I cannot … I wonder why.
Hopefully you will get a dream tonight!
(:
I had a very vivid dream a few nights ago, that I will remember for a long time, but just unblievable to tell anyone about it. And it seems like real as it involves real life personalities.
that’s the problem with real dreams, you can’t have a good one if you’re trying hard to have one, and it just visit anytime. As compared to the expression ‘follow your dream’ or as we equate it with hoping, which is a plan for our future, which if accomplished, we call a dream come true…
There was this meditation CD i ordered a few years ago. I needed to destress then and the sounds were supposed to relax me. A bonus was that it would trigger vivid dreams. And it did! Lemme see Dine if I can still find it. Will let u know.
Hi sexy mom
have you tried chamomile tea? works for me, I sleep like a baby..
Sweet dreams…
masarap mag dream, pero mas okey kung reality na, lalo na winning millions of euros, in real, not in dreams, lol.
Kung dreams, don lang ako sa tweetums young once upon a time, haha.
Para sarap tulog, i take a shower before lata sa bed, hehe. with ear plugs, eyes covered and no touching by Lolo.LOL
for some reason, when I am preoccupied with/about something, i easily dream. so maybe, you should engage your mind in something beautiful for a while.
oh dear, thanks for all your suggestions and nice words. i failed miserably – i didn’t dream. these days, probably because of blogging, and the excitement and contentment attached to it, i sleep as soon as my back touches the bed. and the slumber is deep, dreamless. i just have to make something for today’s class.
[...] Apropos to an earlier post, I meekly accept my failure. In as much as I wished before I slept, I last night was another dreamless night. Nothing that I can recall of. Gosh, what face will I show Barbara and my classmates? What will I read aloud in class? Having failed miserably, I was debating what dream I would write about. Will I write about that blurry dream of an 8th child? the cosmetic surgery? Or will I write about a dream made out while awake? I realized that while dreams are free, we cannot have them when we want them. They are not planned, they just come in random. [...]

Why don’t we? There are lots of pretty good writers at PMNetwork, I could learn a lot from them!
