Back to Blogging (with a vengeance!), Spot.ph and 88DB.com

Hear ye, hear ye!

Youngest son, Alan Jr who after enjoying a food tour to Trinoma (on 25 April) and Bonifacio High Street and Serendra (on 29 April) arranged by Spot.ph, has returned to blogging, and with a vengeance! What also inspired him to write again is his great penchant for the Rubik’s cube. He can solve the 2×2 and 3×3 Rubik’s cubes in less than 1 minute, but he could only do so much with the 5×5. He can do 1 side, or a full middle square in all sides, but not the full solution. He has searched the net, but could not find a solution nor the algorithm. He says his classmate will show him how to do it, but that is still in June when they meet in school.

I have always encouraged Alan Jr to blog, to improve his writing skills, particularly subject-verb agreement and the tenses. He is learning, though. It has been six months since he has posted, now he is posting with a vengeance, like 6 posts in 2 days. He talks about the Trinoma food tour, the Bonifacio High Street/Serendra food tour, his Mac Mini, and the Rubik’s cube. See for yourself, it is so refreshing to read what an 11-year old has in his mind, what makes him happy, his observations, maybe even expectations. These words particularly caught my attention, “I blogged again because if you don’t blog you can’t eat.” He could not have been part of those food tours, had he not been a blogger.

On the Side

Oh, and yes, Alan Jr joined me and BA at the 88DB.com’s bloggers party, the party after iBlog4 at Katips Bar along Katipunan Avenue. Too bad, I was looking for food—and all that I got was 5 pieces of nachos, while BA got something like 50 grams of fried tofu, and 3 tiny pieces of chicken strips for Alan Jr. Drinks were either 3 bottles of beer (which one has to get all together at one time) or refillable iced tea. We enjoyed the music after the program, though.

Shame on me, my fault, I had a lot of expectations, like why invite 200 bloggers when there was even almost no food to serve at all, not even peanuts. The nearby restaurants just got lucky, with some bloggers moving over to Banapple next door and Kopi Roti across the street (in fact two of our favorite places in Katipunan).

What a shame, I looked and looked and looked (LOL), and lo and behold—the invitation did not say anything about FOOD The invite said very clearly: Booze, Music, Prizes and 88DB.com. Oh well, lesson learned. Maybe, the generous heaping of food from the Trinoma and Bonifacio High Street/Serendra food tours was more than enough for those who attended to last without food till after 4 days—the blogger’s party. What compensated for the lack of food was the fun the bloggers had in each other’s company, the games perhaps, and the music.

Anyway, thanks to Spot.ph for the invite—one of these days I will be writing about the experience, particularly on the restaurants who were outstanding in terms of quality, courtesy, service and all. Spot.ph says that they are a savvy city guide that’s proudly local, with the aim of making city living easier by helping people find the cool places to eat, chill, dine, and play. And there were people who playfully asked if Spot.ph had anything to do with my The D Spot and Angelo’s The J Spot. Well, both The D and J Spots have been in dotph for a while. I do not know when Spot.ph has come in the picture, but I am sure, with good marketing efforts, they will make a name for themselves.

88DB.com, on the other hand is being introduced as the newest service developed by JobsDB.com for a wide range of services—a platform for service providers and consumers to find each other and a community where users can interact with different service providers.

Good luck to both Spot.ph and 88DB.com.

    Hello Tita Dine!

Thanks for the company during the SPOT PASS Trinoma. I really had a great time “food hunting” with you and your family. I actually felt like I was Mica Racoma that moment LOL :D

About the 88db.com party, I was disappointed with the food too. I got 4 strips of that whatever that thing is. When I was about to get some nachos, the lady told me “May pagkain na po kayo bawal na”. Para akong patay gutom haha LOL

Some of the bloggers went to Mc Do and some went to Shakey’s.

When it comes to blogging skills, your family has no match, Dine. Enjoyed reading Alan Jr.’s blog and boy, can he write! I better start training my grandsons to write their first sentences!

    Hi Tita Dine!

It was great to meet you and your wonderful tribe last week. Sexy Mom indeed! ;-) We’re happy to hear that Alan Jr. is back to blogging, and that somehow, the Trinoma Bloggers’ Tour had a part in his comeback. Thank you so much for taking the time to come to the tour on both days! Your support as we prepare to officially launch SPOT.ph this week means so much to us.

    Blessings!

Hi Tita Dine! :D Hehe… I was also expecting dinner at Katips Bar..I was suprised to only have pica-pica. :P Good thing me and Mica had a lot of isaw and taba at the isawan near Malcolm. :P

I was pretty much still hungry during the event. I completely forgot about being hungry because of the Fotoloco booth. :P I was also happy to win this Anilao overnight stay for two. Now my problem is how to consume it! :P

“If you don’t blog you don’t eat”—hahaha. He’s really so cute.

It’s all in the family, talaga. Bravo, the blogging Racoma. More blogging laurels to all of you.
