Hershey’s Mockolate!!! (Hershey’s Chocolate no more)–I felt so betrayed!
January 15th, 2010 · 4 Comments
It has been 2 years now–and I feel so betrayed! Tell me–am I the LAST to know? Because I found this: In 2007, the Chocolate Manufacturers Association in the United States, whose members include Hershey, Nestlé, and Archer Daniels Midland, lobbied the Food and Drug Administration to change the legal definition of chocolate to let [...]

December 26th, 2009 · 2 Comments
We had it a few days ago, and it is Red Ribbon‘s Limited Edition–Chocolate Walnut Fudge with Hershey’s Dark Chocolates, an addition to their premium selection line. Luxuriate in its chocolate mousse, moist brownie fudge loaded with chopped walnuts, and Hershey’s dark chocolate in the form of chocolate ganache, long curls and sprinkles. I did!

State of My Health–I am well, thank you!
July 3rd, 2009 · 5 Comments
Lest it be rumored that I am very ill (…and the next thing is–I am dying), I am sharing with you the state of my health. And I thought that it is only the former president’s family who should be issuing a state of her health following treatment for colon cancer. Or, PGMA who has [...]

Taking Charge of Our Health–a choice, an option
April 13th, 2009 · 11 Comments
For the past two months, at least, I had 3 boils (pigsa) that just grew in different parts of my body, in my face, in my butt, then just a few days ago, inside my lower lid. I had to take strong doses of anti-biotics and minor surgery in between to drain the abscess. They [...]

It’s March–chillin’ in the summer
March 1st, 2009 · 4 Comments
It’s March, and as summer crawls in…the next few days and weeks are expected to grow hotter and hotter (or is it warmer and warmer?). Schools are wrapping up in two weeks for summer vacation, and I can understand why–the hot summer days are not conducive for kids to be in school. March and April [...]

Wrigley’s Orbit with Xylitol–stirring memories of old, Journey of Taste–a pampering culinary experience
December 14th, 2008 · 3 Comments
Wrigley–stirring memories of old When I got the invite from Misty Belardo for a “Journey of Taste” in behalf of their client Wrigley, I did not have second thoughts about attending, even if it meant traveling from Quezon City to the Fort in Taguig on a Tuesday trafficky evening. The word “Wrigley” sparked memories of [...]

Feeding the Little Ones–A dilemma of young parents
November 12th, 2008 · 2 Comments
During the past few months that I have been visiting CRIBS, I had one outstanding observation among the crawlers and toddlers–they are not difficult to feed, and they are not really difficult to take care of. Young babies that they are, from infants to 2 years old, or slightly older, they are pretty much different [...]

Royal Tru Orange–stirs memories of old
November 7th, 2008 · 7 Comments
My kids thought that it was high time for me to learn to cook. I know how to cook, I told them, but I just did not have the desire to cook. They agreed–they always crave for what they call “the best lasagna” that I prepared for them every now and then. They also like [...]

Tangy, spicy and salty Tamales–where to buy them
November 3rd, 2008 · 10 Comments
Every now and then, I would crave for a local delicacy called “tamales”. I am lucky because I can always find one in a place near my home. From Wikipedia: Ang tamales ay isang pagkaing Pilipino na halaw sa impluwensiya ng mga Mehikano. Karaniwang kinasasangkapan ang pagluluto nito ang pulbos o harinang bigas, itlog, at [...]

The effects of Coke on the body (the effects of Coke on me)
October 20th, 2008 · 24 Comments
A lot has been said on the negative effects of Coke (I mean Coca Cola, not the other coke) to the human body, like dissolving teeth and bones. It may also be the cause of obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, osteoporosis, nutritional deficiencies, heart disease, and many neurological disorders. And how it can be used to [...]

Happy at 2 am–Sorbetes @ Mini Stop + The Secret Garden
October 16th, 2008 · 12 Comments
Monica was craving for something sweet at 2am. These days we have been careful about the food we eat because of the melamine scare, no more Cadbury, or M&Ms, not yet. We walked to Mini Stop, about 5 houses away from ours–it is relatively safe, with the roaming barangay volunteers just around the corner. She [...]

NESTLE POPS–A New Generation Ice Cream
July 1st, 2008 · 8 Comments
A night of reminiscing, great food, and even greater dessert. “Mom, we remember our childhood!”, my bigger kids told me as we went to the Nestle Creamery along Aurora Boulevard. They remember those carefree days when we went to that place when they were little kids. Thanks to Nestle Pops, we were again able to [...]
