Online ACET Results and Online UPCAT Results for SY 2010-2011

It’s almost two days now since the 2009 ACET results came out, and we have had our fill of mixed emotions:
- for those who passed ACET–elation, pride, and crying out of joy.
- for those who are Waitlisted–happiness, too, and high hopes, since more or less they are likely to make it to the Ateneo, after some processes and formalities.
- for those who failed–low moments, crying, depression, even dedma moments. Some even felt insulted hearing tales of their peers saying things like, “I passed ACET, but the top guys in our batch did not even make it”, or at worst, being reprimanded by their parents for having been lax in their studies.
It is now time to stop shedding the tears, questioning what went wrong, sulking, having self pity and self incrimination, shoo off the negative feelings, and MOVE ON. You have other options.
If you still care to pursue your intention of studying at the Ateneo, take a look what I found in the website:
.
7. INCOMPLETE FORMS were not processed.8. INQUIRIES. For inquiries, you may call the Office of Admission and Aid (OAA) at 4266001 local 5152 – 5155 or email at oaa@admu.edu.ph. Kindly address all letters to:
The Director
Office of Admission and Aid
Loyola Schools
Ateneo de Manila University
Loyola Heights, Quezon City
.
You can contact the Office of Admission and Aid, ask your questions, and if needed, submit a letter of consideration or appeal, enclosing your credentials that could strengthen your appeal. There is no harm in trying, though of course, priority will be given to those who are waitlisted.
The Ateneo may be your dream school, but it is not necessarily the school for you. In the meantime, there is still UPCAT, the results of which will be posted by 3rd week of January. There are also other schools to consider, good ones, which I do not need to mention anymore.
I know the feeling, but it is not the end of the world. This is all a part of growing up that high school seniors go through at this time of year. I am speaking now as a mother, the way I would talk to you had you been my daughters and sons. The world is big—there are lots of opportunities awaiting where you can shine and be your best. It is all a matter of acceptance, it is all a matter of doing your best in every endeavor.
Make good in the school where you are accepted, and after a semester or two, try to transfer to the Ateneo if you still want to. Or after college, take your post-graduate studies, like Masters at the Ateneo, or go to Law School.
For parents–be there for your children, share their joy and sorrow, encourage them, be their pillar of support, have quality time with them, whether your are physically present or not.
And thank God along the way–He has greater plans for each of you!

So true. There is more to life than being in the Ateneo. But of course, being an Atenean, I would also like to congratulate those who passed.

I have a question miss dine. What if I wanted my second choice more than my first choice [which I passed]? I am currently deciding whether to request for a change of course. But how? How’s the format? Thank you!

True! The worst sentence I’ve ever read in my entire life, “Sorry but the name you entered is not in the list.” But still, life goes on.
I hope I could move on soon. I really cried my heart out after reading the result. I even told my friends that I’d mourn over the death of my future. Haha. But I figured, I should not let myself down for failing the ACET. My future doesn’t depend there, my future depends on what I make it, anywhere I graduate.

well, i also didn’t pass. hahahah.
sayang ang slot ng batch mates ko. hindi kasi sila mag-aaral dun eh…
hahaha…
wala. life goes on. ganun talaga eh. bakit pa ko maghahabol? hahaha…
“hindi naman ako mawawalan eh… sino kaya? baka sila :p “

For the those who failed the ACET, don’t fret! What Mrs.D said here is right. MAKE AN APPEAL. Some people just didn’t do good during the test but are worthy enough to enter the school. So, make an appeal. What’s there to lose?
I’m a sophomore now in Ateneo. I got in through an appeal and is currently part of the Dean’s Lister.
It’s not how you got in but how you stay in.

Hey Mrs. D! Is it true that Friendly Informaion (who commented above) was accepted through a reconsideration? WOW! Is there really a possibility to enter ADMU through this appeal?

to shawl,
“were chosen” not was chosen. hinihiya mo naman ang UST e.
Anyway, UST has 40,000 applicants every year (20,000 apply for Nursing) compared to 65,000 for UP, DLSU-27,000, and Ateneo-13,000.
Let’s assume that without nursing, UST would have 20,000 applicants. Let’s also see the admission rate of each school.
UP- 65,000 applicants, accepts 8,000 students
(9%-12% admission rate on an average)
DLSU- 25,000 applicants, accepts 3,800
(15%-19% on an average)
ADMU- 13,000 applicants, accepts 2,700
(13%21% on an average)
UST (w/0 Nursing)- 20,000 applicants, accepts 13,000 students= 65% admission rate.
UST w/ Nursing- 40,ooo applicants, accepts 12,500 students= 33% admission rate.
So, Imagine ADMU, UP, DLSU, and UST equally have Nursing programs. We assume additional 20,000 for ADMU and DLSU.
No. of applicants
UP-65,000 DLSU-47,000, UST-40,000 ADMU-33,000
Admitted
UST-13,000, UP-8,000, DLSU-3,800, ADMU-3,000
Admission Rate
UP- %, DLSU-9%, ADMU-9%, UST- 33%
So, yung talagang patapon o hindi msyado magaling sa UST talga pumapasa.

I didn’t pass the ACET. i was too depressed that time. but hey, I passed UPCAT and USTET and got passed in engineering courses.
now, i’m on my second year in UP Diliman College of Engineering ^^,
to others who didn’t make it, there are lots of opportunities yet to meet, don’t limit yourself in considering just a school alone.
As a matter of fact, there are really good students who fail the ACET and pass UPCAT. some pass ACET but fail in UPCAT. This happens as well in UST.
Move on. ^^, He has plans why you didn’t make it.
