I’m sharing with you My Mission Statement, written in 2005 for the HumRes class while I was taking my MBA at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business:
mommy, mama, mom, ma—any which way
mother to 7 wonderful blessings
a lifetime commitment
parent, friend, companion, mentor, support
to mold each child from infancy to adulthood
to guide and lead each child to become
an upright citizen and worthy child of God
to love with utter selflessness
in all understanding, sympathy, forgiveness
amidst the challenges of this changing world
each moment, a pleasure, what joy!
my cup overflows and I am thankful
I am but their custodian
time will come when I will face my Creator
to humbly say, “mission accomplished!”
Formulating a mission statement, especially a personal one, is not really easy, but once done, it gives one a sense of ownership, a guide to live by.
How about you? How will you write your Mission Statement?

Mukhang marami pa po akong malaman/matutunan before I could come up to my own.
SexyMom: you can make one now, then update it, as and when necessary.

Thank you for sharing this. Next term, HumRes will be one of my subjects in AGSB. So now I know we will do a mission statement pala.
SexyMom: good for you, hope you are enjoying your MBA classes at AGSB.

very well said, truly motherhood is lifetime commitment, as my mother said even though your kids are 34 you still guide, worry about them.
SexyMom: true, true, until we are old and gray…

hello there SexyMom. i love your mission statement esp. the line where you said: mother to 7 wonderful blessings, a lifetime commitment. agree with you, for as long as we’re breathing till our Dear Lord hold us back, our kids will surely be our lifetime commitment.
i also did a similar mission statement when i took Franklin Covey’s 7 Habits for Highly Effective People 5 years ago. hmm, let me dig those worksheets, i’d also love to share that with everyone.
SexyMom: yes, F Covey’s 7 Habits were covered by our HumRes class, it was after learning from FC that we were made to write the mission statement. yah, dig it and share it, i look forward to reading yours.

Wow!! It’s inspiring..very inspiring. Here’s mine : I’m a Mama..to 2 little girls..so help me God
Seriously, I really haven’t thought about doing a mission statement. After reading yours, I’m inspired (there I go again) to make mine. Thanks for the great idea

Wow Sexymom, powerful words. It’s very challenging to have make mission statement. Maybe they should include this making of mission statement in the seminars for marriage.

Wow! Very inpsiring. I like the “to love with utter selflessness…” part. I thought that’s one of the hardest things to do. But as I found out, when you’re already a mom, you’ll do anything, even lay down your own life for your child.
ann // Jun 6, 2007 at 12:24 pm
You’re a real mom. Giving them all the guidance and love unconditionally.
Have a nice day tita dine!

Very inspiring indeed, Sexy Mom. I have been asking the myself my mission statement actually. I just could come up being a great wife to my husband. A wife to me should be a girlfriend, friend, lover, partner, mistress and mom (sometimes) to her husband. I am still learning. Sabi nga nila, there’s no school that will teach you this things.. well perhaps there is but I believe its a case to case basis.
Anyway, love your mission statement. Im sure I would be making one soon. TC
tina // Jun 6, 2007 at 12:57 pm
its like stating one’s purpose. Im about to make a goal board with my purpose written across it.
:P my mission statement is in my heart and will soon be written in my journal.

My own Mission Statement? Lemme ask my girlfriend.. Hehehe!
You’re right, we all need one. Gotta start working on my own..
You need not approve it, right?

A beautiful one Tita!
I never thought about what my Mission Statement will be like but I guess I’m gonna think about how to write it now.

Hi Dine. What a beautiful mission statement. I wonder if you have considered printing and framing it. Such touching words should always be remembered.
Sidney // Jun 6, 2007 at 7:48 pm
Nice mission statement!
I guess I have to start thinking about mine!
myepinoy // Jun 6, 2007 at 8:53 pm
It really is a mothersome(???) mission statement me. Me, I do not know if I will come up somewhat near to your mission statement.
Probably my usual statement. Live ur Life!
SexyMom: Live ur Life is still a livable mission statement.

hi mommy dine. that’s a great mission statement. ive been thinking of doing something similar to that these past days, about wrting my goals for all areas of my life – i feel urged to do so after reading an inspirational book.
about your question, it’s a different story for my children. kung pwede lang gayahin nila (halos) lahat, damit ko, kilos ko, desisyon ko.
gusto ko nga terno kami e pati husband ko
SexyMom: good luck with yours. and thanks for answering my question.
princess // Jun 7, 2007 at 7:53 am
What a great mission, Dine! It looks like you’re almost done with it – sexy (siempre ito dapat ang #1, hehehe), semi-retired, had reared wonderful children who are now almost all on their own, nurtured a great family, I can go on and on and on….. You deserve a big applause
BTW, my diet is related to my vision (or vice versa) cuz my eye problem could have stemmed daw from my elevated cholesterol, which, just by looking at your pics, hindi mo problema, diba? Thanks for dropping by.
SexyMom: thanks, Princess, but i guess i still have a long way to go.

Flashbacks of HR workshops when I was still working come to my mind!
Very well-written and well-thought-of mission statement, sexy mom!
Hmmm, I must mull over mine. So true that as mothers we have great missions. And if companies have mission statements, all the more that each mom should.
Btw, thanks for complimenting my new look… but I changed it again haha. So you have a daughter with my namesake? That’s a very nice coincidence!
SexyMom: true, true—motherhood is equally important (or shall i say, more important) than any company career, benefiting a good mission statement.
kimmy // Jun 8, 2007 at 6:56 am
what a soulful mission statement. a salute to you, mommy dine! i’m confident you can live up to that.
SexyMom: thanks, Kimmy!
U.T.O.Y // Jun 8, 2007 at 4:30 pm

SexyMom: you could have one, it only takes some concentration.
auee // Jun 9, 2007 at 6:19 am
to be the best of the best of the best, sir!.. ay teka US Army yata yan.
I will think of a proper one & post it, too. But I’m sure cannot come up with something as soulful as yours
SexyMom: that’s nice to hear, will wait for you to share yours.
Diogenes // Jun 9, 2007 at 2:47 pm
What cames to my mind since I saw your statement is this: “you are a dolling mom. Your seven are lucky sevens.”
SexyMom: Thanks, Dio!

Honestly, while reading all your post….....
I ask myself….
Do I am a good Mama?
Do I done like what sexy mom done?
Do I care my children’s so well?
Do I share mostly of my time to my kids?
Do I listen always to them of what they say?
Do I am always there, when they need me?
So many questions got in my self…..
Do I care and love my kids, do I share mostly of my time to them…......
Do my kids….run in a good pathway….do my kids a good Christian too?
Can I say too, MISSION ACCOMPLICHED, GOD………………
SexyMom: oh, Vicki, i tend to ask myself those questions, too. like me and you, and the many other moms out there, parenting is a continuous process..,we just hope that in the end, we would be able to say, Mission Accomplished!
vk // Jun 11, 2007 at 3:50 am
You are lucky of your Lucky Seven……..
You’ve really a Lucky family….
God bless you and your family, sexy mom.
SexyMom: thanks, Vk, God bless you, too.

Bless you and your wonderful words of wisdom which the rest might as well borrow. The world needs more of your unconditional love and guidance for the family.
Thanks for visiting my blog, too.
Sexy Mom: May God bless you, too, dear.

hi! i happen to visit your site while i was browsing on to different home-based jobs.
i am touched by your mission statement and everything you wrote are all true. i know that i would still go a long way as compared to your motherhood experiences and for the fact that you have raised seven beautiful children, and i only have one…even if i don’t personally know you, i admire you for what you have shared in your mission statement.
i pray that i may one day write my own mission statement specially dedicated to my only son and hope one day that i will also inspire other moms out there just like what you have done to me…thank you!
Sexy Mom: thanks, Nerie
am so touched, and i am glad i have inspired in my own little way.
this what the purpose of my blog is, i just want to share the positive
things in life.
will include yo in my prayers—am sure you will do well as a mother
and wife, and that one day—yes you will be able to write your mission
statement
take care

Out of all of the Mission Statements that I have read, studied, heard, or written my lifetime that is the first one that is truly Poetry.
Well done!
Be well.

This is a message for Dine Racoma. I was just searching the internet regarding the Shroud of Terin, and your blog came up. I lived and was born in Hawaii and my father, Benito Racoma, was born and raised in the city of Cebu (excuse me if I’ve misspell the city). I’ve always wondered about my father’s homeland and would like to come someday to visit. I’ve asked my friends and relitives here if they would have any idea of Racomas’ in the Philipine, but of no avail. Please keep in touch with me and maybe I may be able to locate other Racomas of my family tree.
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
God bless,
Glenn David Racoma

Greetings Mrs. Racoma,
You are wonderful, please keep up the good work. Your encouraging life story is great testament for those who live their life to please their creator. You ask what mission state we can share, mine is the following:
“Nothing Impossible To A Willing Heart, Because If Theres A Will There’s A Way.”
Best Regards,
Regi

Greetings from Montreal, Quebec, Canada!
I have been reading the CRIBS blog as we adopted our precious little boy from there in September 2008.
I came across your message dated September 18, 2008. I know this is far back, but I’m wondering if the little toddler you mentioned “Marlon” was in fact our son. I would love to print it out for him (if it is him) so I could put it in his memory box to show him how much he was loved during his 2 years at CRIBS!
If possible could you contact me by email. jessicarice@hotmail.com
Thank you! Blessings, Jessica
