When Lee’s name was announced as the winner of American Idol, he was asked, “What are you feeling right now?” He said, “I am very happy”. A follow up question, “Can you describe what is really in your heart right now?” he said, “No, I cannot.” And something to the effect that there’s so much inside his heart that he could not say in words what was in his heart, the happiness, the joy, etc.
And tears were running down my face–No, not because I was happy that Lee won the much coveted title of American Idol, but because I was (I mean, I am) feeling the way he was feeling–immense happiness!
At this moment, I continue to be happy–very happy. There have been so many things in the past that disturbed me, that brought tears to my eyes, that somehow disturbed my peaceful existence, involving my family, my friends, my work, and many more. Who is not faced with challenges, anyway? But with complete trust in the Lord, with blind faith, with patience and perseverance, I am what I am right now.
I am very happy, surrounded with family and their warm love. I have my mom who takes care of me and my family. I have my real and trusted friends. My kids love school and they too have their own circle of friends, and at the end of the day, we come together to pray (even if at times I am too sleepy to join). There have been challenges–the kids have their own quirks and worries, but these do not stop us from living a peaceful and loving existence. The driver has smashed our car in a lamppost 3 weeks ago, tested my patience, challenged my blood pressure–but what can I do? I can only forgive, and yes, forget, despite the money and property lost.
To cap it all, we have been blessed many times over–I have my work that keeps me happy in my pyjamas (happy in the sense that I share this with those who work with me, my writers and my VAs), hubby is happy with his work, extending their mission to the less fortunate. Angelo and family come to the house almost everyday, the tiny tots bringing peals of laughter and innocent joy to our home (Pia you’ll get your read PSP soon and Cate your pink DS whatever that is). Monica is happily working–she got tons of offers from law firms by the way. BA, Vince and Angela love UP and enjoy their schooling, while Pau (happy 17th, dear Pau) will start school in UA&P which is next door to Monica’s office. And yes, the little one is a big boy now at 13–has entered manhood! He goes to the Ateneo HS in June.
And don’t forget our Mucci–she’s oh so cute, and loving and huggable. She brings joy to everyone. Always there by my side (before any else’s), no matter what. Except this summer, she opts to go with anyone whose room is the coolest–smart dog, she is!
Yes, my happiness is perhaps the same or even more than what Lee feels right now. Congratulations, Lee! And thank you, dear Lord for these unbelievable joy and blessings, for everything–for blessing me and family many times over!
