Happy Father’s Day

If the kids were to write this post they will say:

move over, Sexy Mom
it’s Daddy on the spotlight—it’s his day today!
and we all greet him Happy Father’s Day!

(figuratively, a staircase—parang hagdanan, sunod-sunod)

and thank you, Dad
for all the care each passing day
though quiet sometimes not even a word to say
and laughing out loud the next

(only 10 years ago, time passes so fast)
.

for being strict one day, and not being strict the next
for allowing BA grow his curly hair long
mox for philam trips
chato her night outs
pauline her sleepovers
alan jr his long hours with his mac
vince driving over to steph’s

(kids with Steph plus Dad and Mommylola)

for bringing us to places where we need to go,
only to find out on return
that another one has to go to the same place too
for picking us up in the evening
in the middle of the night or early morning
sleep interrupted in between
then again going back to pick up another

(oh, sweetness! Pauline during her First Holy Communion)

for giving the money you set aside for yourself
when we ask for a special favor
for allowing moochie in our house and our lives

for keeping us together in faith
leading our nightly prayers
even if some of us are either sleepy already
or not paying attention
petron treats, mcdonald’s, kfc, etc after sunday mass

for the dental trips and medical visits
and yes for loving mom in your own quiet but special way

for just being there
we love you, Daddy!

To my 2 brothers, Ardy and Jun, and all great blogger dad friends I know, Tony Joaquin, Jimmy Soriano, Butch Dalisay, dimaks, Aldrin Cantos, Jun de Asis, myepinoy, Jayvee Fernandez, Joel Tan, Butch Dado, Sonny Santos, Ganns Deen, and all fathers out there, Happy Father’s Day to you! all!

And of course, I pay tribute and prayers to my own Daddy (bless his soul) who joined his Creator 8 years ago.

I pray that someday there will also be a feast for the greatest FATHER of all… but I think everyday is… especially in the morning.

How I would love to embrace Pauline in her wedding gown in the future.
