Scores on 14 September 2008
ADMU-70/UE-50
DLSU-67/FEU-62
Schedule of Games—CHAMPIONSHIPS (Best of 3 Series)
21 September 2008 (Sunday at the Araneta)
4:00 pm ADMU vs DLSU
25 September 2008 (Thursday at the Araneta)
4:00 pm ADMU vs DLSU
The Araneta Coliseum was a motley of colors—blue and yellow on one side and green and red on the other. This was because the FEU Tamaraws played against the DLSU Green Archers at 2 pm, and the ADMU Blue Eagles against the UE Red Warriors at 4 pm, for their respective games—ADMU and DLSU both had the twice to beat advantage to compete for the championships. As early as 1 pm however, fans of the ADMU Blue Eagles and UE Red Warriors fans were already falling in line to gain entry to the Araneta to get choice seats. Only the remaining few general admission tickets and SRO upper A tickets were sold by Ticketnet by games’ opening.
By 4 pm, the motley crowd turned to a sea of red on one side, and a sea of blue on the other, though there were more blues than reds.
DLSU vs FEU. The FEU Tamaraws almost made it for another game with DLSU Green Archers. They were leading most of the time, with the biggest lead of about 9 points. There were ties in the 4th quarter, but in the last few minutes, FEU Tamaraws fumbled, missing 2-point shots and 2 free throws by Baracael which would have tied the game in the last few seconds—which could have evened the scores and called for an extension. DLSU won by 5 points (DLSU-67/UE-62), making them a step away from the Championships.
ADMU vs UE. UE Red Warriors were leading by 7 points in the first few minutes of the 1st quarter, but ADMU Blue Eagles, with Jai leading, rallied 5 minutes into the first quarter. There was no stopping the ADMU Blue Eagles since then, with ADMU leading by as much as 28 points (ADMU-56/UE-28). The ADMU Blue Eagles won, (ADMU-70/UE-50), making them a step away from the Championships.
With ADMU and DLSU winning the games, and them having a 2x to beat advantage, it is now official: ADMU Blue Eagles will meet DLSU Green Archers on Sunday, 21 September and Thursday, 25 September at 4 pm for the CHAMPIONSHIPS (best of 3 series).
If statistics (gathered bt UBelt.com) were to be the basis for the Championships, it’s obvious which team will win:
Some H2H stats (totals in two games) worth pointing out:
Free throws: ADMU - 41/52; DLSU - 19/39.
Fouls: ADMU - 39; DLSU - 49
Blocks: ADMU - 14; DLSU - 5
3pt fgs: ADMU - 7/23; DLSU - 9/41

help! where can i find tickets for sunday’s DLSU-ADMU game? i want that for my bf’s bday….
Sexy Mom: That will be the greatest challenge now. Call ADMU’s alumni office and find out when they will be opening ticket sales—at the Blue Eagles Gym. Chances are, only gen ad tickets will be available. My sons are yet to scout from their contacts. Good luck!
