Diogenes of Quasi Fictional in Lahore, Pakistan, must have been amazed with the family size and the number of bloggers in the family that he featured the Racoma Family in his blog site. This must have also been inspired by an earlier post, We’re a Dynasty (a blogging dynasty, that is).
Diogenes writes:
One can’t move much in Philippine Blogsphere without coming across the Racoma blogs affectingly referred to as Philippine Blogosphere Dynasty. Begin at The D Spot by Dine Racoma {aka sexy mom. She is a proud mother of 7} and most of them are already bloggers. Starting from Alan, Jr, her 10 year old to J. Angelo Racoma – a full-time professional blogger who writes at The J Spot, Jack of all Blogs, Pinoy Tech Blog, Pinoy.urban.blog, The Blog Herald, and Study Driving – and My Multiply, B.A. , Caren, Pauline and Vince, in between. I have been exploring their blogs for some time now and found them interesting, content rich and substantial. Visit to each of the family members’ individual blog is recommended. This will not only give you the pulse of very active Phillipines’ Blogosphere but also tell you as the say, how blogging comes in the blood.
Dine Racoma writes, “I became aware of blogs only when I found out what my eldest son, Angelo, was doing for a living (The J Spot ). I learned that my other kids BA (19 years old), Vince (17), Pauline (14), even Alan, Jr. (10) have their own blogs. At first I was intrigued, later became interested in what they wrote, and perhaps how they wrote. But there is something BIG into it. By reading their blogs, I continue t to know them better, their interests, who their friends are (yes, they have their friends’ links in their blogroll), what their friends perceive them to be, what they do in and outside school, what makes them happy, what bothers them, their innermost thoughts, their plans, etc., etc. Their creativity in designing their blogs is also amazing! I was surprised how advanced they are in the use of computers and the internet.
What about Angela and Monica? They do not have blogs, but they have Friendster accounts. There is also “My Multiply” account where they post their blogs and pictures. We parents may not really be aware of it, but chances are, with computers and online/DSL connections at home, our children not only chat, send emails or search the internet. They also have their own blogs, Friendster and My Multiply accounts which they update regularly.”

Thank you, Dio, for the lovely post–the Racoma Family of bloggers looks forward to interacting with your readers in the subcontinent.

That’s so cool. I’ve never checked out your kid’s blogs either.
I have tried multiple times to make my siblings and friends blog. I have succeeded in only two friends… the rest merely brushed it off…. They’ll come around. hehehe
sexy mom: yes, they’ll come around, in time.

i’ve said this but i’m saying it again, your the bestest Mom i’ve known in the blogsphere. this trait i guess, must have enjoined many to continue to read your worthwhile and inspiring entries.

Wow! What a feat! Congrats, Dine! I wonder however, when your hubby is going to join in… lol!
Ang sarap i-imagine… Dine, the mother hen blogger, with all her seven blogger chicks! But one side, daddy non blogger is busy with his own work… I wish I could draw this image – it could make a nice cartoon, don’t you think?
Dine, I’m okay now.. thanks for your kind words, my friend..
sexy mom: i’m glad to hear that you are ok, dear Rhodora! as to daddy non blogger, let me be content now – he’s a daddy blog reader.

Congratulations! It’s about time somebody wrote that article. I’m just surprised that it wasn’t done first by a Pinoy blogger. I just assumed someone had already written something like that because it seems like everyone already knows about your family of bloggers. Well, maybe that’s exactly why no Pinoy thought of writing a full post on it – it was already sort of a given hereabouts. Which in itself is also a tribute.
My 2 older kids have been blogging for many years now but their blogs were mostly personal and quite private – known only to their own circle of friends. It was only when I discovered that Pinoys are succeeding in monetizing blogs that my daughter joined me in putting up her own problogging venture.
Your family is an inspiration to many!
sexy mom: i guess there are other family bloggers dear, Noemi’s for one. it’s just perhaps my family is so large, that numbers stand out (LOL)

Except for my niece, everyone in the family is just interested in chat and games and all other p.c. except blogging.
Well, nice to hear the whole family writing, like they say, family doing and enjoying the same interests, closer together.
