A Message of Hope and Love: Happy Easter to Everyone

Catholics all over the world celebrate the Holy Week that starts with the joyful celebration of Palm Sunday, through Christ’s humiliation, suffering and death–The Passion, and culminating on Easter Sunday, when He rose from death–The Resurrection.

Reliving the Holy Week that was–more than 2,000 years ago is what our churches lead us with, to remind us of how great and encompassing God’s love is for us, mankind. The Holy Week is all about the Passion of Christ, also about the passion of Mama Mary, seeing how Her only Son suffered in the hands of those who tortured and killed Him, and God’s love for us. This is all a matter of Faith.

Every time I contemplate on Christ’s Passion, and Mama Mary’s, too, I am humbled. What greater sacrifice can ever be made compared to His! On the Father’s point of view, too–to see His Son suffer. Allowing Him to suffer to save mankind, when He as God, all mighty and powerful, could have stopped it all.

This is the beauty of Holy Week–it is a message of Love and Hope. At the end of it all, after the Easter Vigil Service, we come out joyful and hopeful. On a personal level, feeling His loving arms reaching out to me and my family, embracing us with all His Love. For no matter how bad we have been, how we falter every now and then, He is still ready to forgive us. It’s like a personal relationship with Him–PARA BANG CLOSE TALAGA.

I am glad most of the churches nowadays see to it that the services are not boring, that the environment is conducive to praying and listening, that the choir is alive, and that the churches are well ventilated. Thanks to the leadership–the parish priests, and thanks to the volunteer laymen who give their time in service of the Lord.

And for those who do not have the chance to go to real churches, some churches have set up their own websites to reach out not only to their parishioners but to those who have access to internet as well. One good example is UP’s Parish of the Holy Sacrifice’s website, HolySacrifice.net. The Jesuits, too,  have also come up with an innovative undertaking, an Online Retreat.

Now Good Friday–let me greet you Happy Good Friday (the day does not mean to be a pensive day–it is His gift to us).

And on Sunday–HAPPY EASTER (from my family to yours)!
