Today, Mother’s Day, will be focused on us, dear Mothers, and so I say, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! To my very own mother, who has been with me through all of a half century, to my aunts, in-laws, friends, wives of friends, young mothers, grandmothera, pseudo-mothers, blogger moms, bloggers’ moms, and my virtual staff and officemates, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
If there is a greeting which says, Happy Mother’s Day, there should also be one on the same day that says, Happy Children’s Day—they are all that matter, instead of merely saying, Thank you. Thank you for the special greetings, for the special gift, for just being there.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOMMY (Mommylola to the kids). I know you will like these old pictures—you always say you like your only daughter (moi) and granddaughters the way they used to be—more pounds heavier!
To the best mother ever…
To Mama Mary—Happy Mother’s Day to the best Mom that ever lived, and thank you for all the blessings through your intercession. Look after our Michael, please.
On Mother’s Day…
Mother’s Day found me deep in sleep, maybe because of the physical stresses and lack of sleep related to work the past days, that when the kids greeted me, I was simply a vegetable—couldn’t be dragged out of sleep, hearing noises (must they be peals of excitement?), feeling contact on the cheek (must they be kisses), something like being lifted and clasped (hugs perhaps?), something dumped on my hands (a gift?), and I heard myself mumbling unmeaningfully (did I hear myself saying thank you?), aaaaahhhh—Mother’s Day! my day.
And when I was fully awake at 2 am, and there was peace and quiet in the house, I realized that I must have missed a very special something—that certain timing to match the magic at the very right moment. I realized that along the way, I must have hurt one of my kids, Pauline—the most enthusiastic, as she brought me home a gift—bought from her hard earned proceeds working on some blogs, her excitement unmatched, though her siblings appreciated the gesture. She told me so, through YM—and I had no chance to explain. She immediately logged off. I am very sorry, Pau, will make up for it.
And it’s time for me to say thank you to my kids, a toast to you all—Happy Children’s Day!
To Angelo and Caren, thank you. Young as you both are, you have shown that you can stand on your own, raise a family of your own, be responsible for Pia and Cate, and in between looking after both your parents. And foremost, growing in spirituality by the day. A shining example for young parents to emulate.
To the rest of the 6 kids, a general thank you for being fine young gentlemen and ladies, for making me and your dad proud of your achievements, for not giving us major headaches (meaning there are also small headaches in between), and for not giving us major worries (meaning, we also worry about you, especially when you come home late every now and then, and sometimes even coming later than the permission given, or asking permission for sleep overs or gimmicks on so short a notice).
Individually now. . .
To Mox, thank you the “headaches”, sorry, I mean the loyalty, the love, even worrying about me and texting me several times a day to ask if everything is all right, and posting a nice greeting, and yes our pictures, in your Multiply.
To BA, thank you for the company, the trips to UP shopping center after church where we savor the simple joys of banana cue, karioka, and dirty ice cream and sharing them with your “wards” for their “pantawid gutom”, thank you for the care and attention, and the special words, ” I know I may not be the best baby, But for me you were, you are, you will be the best Mommy, even posting this picture (I was then pregnant with Vince).

To Vince, thank you first of all, for the understanding (you know what I mean, and this means so much to me), for being a loving child even if you spend most of your time at home catching up on sleep. Thank you for the advances when I run out of money. At such a young age, you and Steph have learned to take time off your busy schedule to earn some money.
To Angela or Chato, thank you for being yourself, your sweet you, and sharing your music with me. You are maturing so fast, becoming independent so fast. Thank you for the quiet company.
To Pauline, thank you for being the merry and joyful you, for entertaining me with your jokes, pranks, and dance, making me laugh even if I am very busy at work. Thank you for helping me with my work even if you get paid, and for your cyberpresence at YM up to the wee hours of the morning. At least I am one of your chatmates.
To Alan Jr, thank you for being always there by my side, doing chores for me like bringing me water or food while I am busy at work, even receiving orders from me, like “Please bring me this or bring me that”, troubleshooting Mac when I cannot figure things out from the computer (you are more computer savvy than I am!), and waking me up so as not be late for work.
To those who sent text and email messages…
Thank you!
And finally…
I have said my Happy Children’s Day and my Thank Yous. Finally, thank you, Lord, for the blessing of family and friends. Thank you for giving me another year to say to myself, Happy Mother’s Day!
Krispy Kreme, thank you for the box of premium doughnuts delivered to my home last Friday.

!
Sexy Mom: Happy Mother’s Day, too. One, 2, 3…or 7, still the same—they are blessings, such joy!
Happy Mother’s Day Dine! My eldest said a similar thing today… “Mommy, when is Kuya’s day?”. I was speechless for a bit and realized that yeah there should be such a thing as children’s day. But isnt everyday kids day?
Sexy Mom: same to you, Apples! we could start a real “Kuya’s Day” or “Ate’s Day” you, know. It’s true, everyday is their day, but it’s good to give them another special day.
Happy Mother’s Day to the second sexiest mom in the world (my mom being the first… I will take over when my time comes… hehehe!)
I really find it amazing that even on mom’s day, mothers find a way to swivel the spot light back to their kids. (Mom cooked dinner for us)
I just hope that when my time comes, I do justice to the role.

Wow! Nice post, and pictures too! I am blessed to have a new virtual friend like you Dine. You are definitely an inspiration to many as I see (been reading some of your posts these past few days) – you’re such an observant and sensitive writer. Happy Mother’s Day again to you, and to your mom too…
There are so many things that can be said about you, Dine. Many labels. But I think the one that you are fondest of is MOM —super mom, loving-doting-while-managing-to-be pretty-sexy mom.
Congrats and congrats to all your children who are so lucky to have you.
