MIKKO (Gabriel Enrico Macarubbo), 13 years old, will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation today at 4 pm at Don Bosco, Mandaluyong.
Mikko is the 2nd son of Bing, my best friend, and younger brother to Juris. He has personally chosen me to be his Ninang (godmother). Sharing ninanghood for Mikko is another friend, Bles Maca.
Dear Mikko,
You are so blessed—to be able to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation! This is another step in your Christian life to affirm (now from your very own mouth) that you are a child of God and that you accept, in obedience, God’s Words. This will further open your eyes and heart to God’s wonderful plans for you.
Be a man, not for yourself, but for others (for your parents, brother, relatives, neighbors, classmates, the poor, and all).
When you are confused, pray. Pray for enlightenment. Don’t let this confusion get over you. Life is full of challenges, it is not always an easy life. But I know you will be able to face life graciously. Be strong to face these challenges.
Grow up to be a fine young man, a young man your parents will be happy and proud of, a young man pleasing to the Father. DON’T waver in your Christian faith.
God loves you, Mikko. Mama Mary loves you.
love from my heart
Ninang Dine

Congratulations to Mikko!
Off topic; what does Ninang mean?
That is a very nice letter to your inaanak. My niece has also asked me to be her ninang when she gets confirmed in May.
Aaah… u still get asked to be a Ninang sa kumpil. Ibig sabihin bata ka pa. LOL Eh ako panay kasal na lang ah. hahhaha. How sweet of you to write a letter to your inaanak.
Which reminds me two of my children are unconfirmed. At that time, Catholic schools didnt yet make it their business to intervene. hahaha. Naku these two will be in trouble when they get married ano.
Have a terrific Sunday Dine.
@kyels – thanks from Mikko! Ninang means godmother.
@niceheart – that was the letter i placed in the card, i felt it would be nice to document it for him. you know, Mikko reads my posts regularly. it’s a good idea, no? maybe you could write one for your niece, too, when she gets confirmed in May.
hahaha @Annamanila! sexy mom is still young—young at heart! that is why i still get invitations to be godparents in baptisms and confirmations. soon—i guess, invitations will be for weddings. and sexy mom gains age in style.
you won’t lose anything if you have your 2 kids confirmed—in fact, they will even gain more spiritual indulgences. think about it. it will be also cause for another celebration!
Happy Sunday!
Nice message to Mikko! Let’s hope he keeps that in mind for the rest of his life!
what an inspiring letter to your inaanak, Dine
Lucky Mikko…
I got my confirmation since I was enrolled in a seminary during my highschool and it was a requirement. If I didnt probably I wouldnt received or experienced confirmation
