Here’s a very inspiring story of a very talented young man.

Gurbaksh Singh Chahal, more recently known as “G” (born 17 July 1982) is an award winning American entrepreneur. He was the Founder, Chairman & CEO of two advertising companies (which were sold for $300 million.

More recently Chahal has appeared in TV shows and written a book–The Dream, Palgrave Macmillan launched on 23 October 2008. Here’s a recent interview with Oprah on 24 October 2008.

Here’s an interview on Fox Business Channel

At age 16 he started his first venture, ClickAgents, an advertising network focused on performance- based advertising which he sold in November 2000 to ValueClick in a $40 million all-stock merger, and a three year non-compete agreement. He opened a restaurant called Planet Bollywood in Milpitas California at the age of 20.

In January 12, 2004, He formed BlueLithium, another advertising network in January 2004. It was recognized as an innovator in the online advertising space in a Business 2.0 article. In 2006, under Chahal’s leadership, BlueLithium was named Top Innovator by AlwaysOn.

Yahoo! bought BlueLithium for $300 million in cash on October 15, 2007, at age 25. Chahal remained CEO of the company through the transition period. Chahal is now working on his next start-up, gWallet, a site intended to allow users to find deals on merchandise they are looking for via the internet.

He is featured on the new prime-time network show The Secret Millionaire (FOX air date December 2008), is developing several other television shows, and in the beginning stages of building a non-profit company called the Chahal Foundation.

He came from a very humble beginning, was a high school drop out, lives in San Francisco, and is single. His secret to remaining grounded is his family, who are his inspiration. His mother and grandmother often encouraged him, and his siblings continue to be his best friends.

When he first had his millions, he paid for the family’s mortgage and bought a Lombarghini, but the millions did not get into his head.

His advice: Don’t stop dreaming, follow your passion. Dream of something you really want to do. He wanted to go ahead and control his own destiny without having to work for anybody. He wanted to run his own company.

His greatest mistake, from which he learned his lessons was that he didn’t know about balance. He forgot his family and youth at age 16. Now he says, “Happiness comes with balance and success”.
