Today, 8 March is International Women’s Day, a global day of celebration. It is the global day connecting all women around the world and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.
Let us greet each other HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!

A toast to mothers, grandmothers, wives, aunts, daughters and friends, a toast to our Filipina countrymen, a toast to all women all over the world, to those who continue to suffer from all forms of discrimination and abuse, and deprived of the most basic rights.

A toast to us Filipina women, especially to our overseas foreign workers, our present day heroes, who have taken the ultimate sacrifice of leaving their families behind hoping to give them a comfortable life and a good future.
A toast to women leaders, there are so many good ones by the way—and for those who have gone astray, may they have the discernment to see once and for all the light, courage to step down if they must, for the healing of our land, wounded and divided. May they have the purity of heart to place the benefit of the people they lead before their very own.
See these:
In some countries, men honor their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc. wth flowers and small gifts (IWD is now an official holiday in countries like Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam).
In some countries children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers (IWD has the equivalent status of Mother’s Day).
A gesture so touching, so “feel good”, symbolic maybe—wouldn’t you want to be appreciated on such a special day?
As the organizers say, “So make a difference, think globally and act locally!! Make everyday International Women’s Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.”

We are also celebrating this on Tuesday with a reception for women leaders.
We are very fortunate that we have enjoyed privileges and opportunities and have not been discriminated against. I hope that all women in the world could also enjoy these privileges and opportunities.

Happy International Women’s Day to you too Tita Dine!
Off topic; it’s also the 12th Election in Malaysia. All of us are waiting for the ballots to be counted.
