According to Inquirer.net, some 1,300 law graduates passed the 2008 bar examinations as mentioned by a source at the Supreme Court. This is more than 20% of the 6,364 examinees in September last year.
The figure is slightly less than the 22.91% of those who passed in the 2007 bar examinations 1,289 out of 5,626 examinees). 2004 saw the highest passing percentage of 31.61%.
The formal announcement of the 2008 bar results is being awaited by the examinees, their schools, friends and family. It is expected at 4 p.m today, after the “decoding” of the answer sheets and matching them with the names of the examinees by the committee on the bar examinations.

This early, we join our daughter Monica, in cheering her friends at the Ateneo Law School. We are praying and keeping our fingers crossed for Monica’s best friends to pass the bar exams, and all her former classmates. She has opted to take the course in 5 years.
Monica will graduate from the Ateneo Law School two weeks from now. She will start her review for the bar exams next week.
