UPDATE: To all of you, dear Readers who sent their comments: THANK YOU very much. It has been a fulfilling and fun year, getting to know you, interacting with you, and sharing with you the joy of the blogosphere.:)

6 November 2006—that was the day when I (rather, when son, J Angelo) posted my first article, Finding My Niche. Now, one year and 194 articles later, here I am celebrating my First Anniversary in the Blogosphere.

What have I achieved in this 1 year? a lot!

  • gained a community of friends and readers (without boundaries of age, sex, race, religion, niche) who have embraced me for who I am, with whom I have shared my highs and lows, exchanged ideas, exchanged memes, and meeting others face-to-face

  • shared my joys of being a mother, and lately, its pains, too

  • bared all, told of the weird things about myself and my kids, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here

  • evolved as editor of the Parenting Subdomain of the Pinoy Moms Network, and as co-publisher (with Noemi and her sister Lorna Lardizabal-Dietz, of The Filipina Images, now ranking high in google page 1.

  • career wise, have reinvented myself as a freelance writer and researcher, new media adviser, and an advocate of home-based jobs or virtual offices.

  • maintains page 1 ranking in google, yahoo and msn search engines for SexyMom

  • had the very popular UAAP series, and moderated the comments, from the siple thoughts to the highly emotional exchange of banters

  • joined press and product launches, and shared a meal or two in blog meets

  • had a share of awards, Top 10 Emerging Ifluential Blogs of 2007, Successful Outstanding Bloggers, thinking, rocking , cool, etc (I have not even acknowledged all yet, but thanks)

  • joined contests, and being one of the winners in one

  • had my share of interviews (Moms Today, Money Sense, Blog-o-rama) and a mention in the Sunday Inquirer Magazine

  • shared my poems

  • shared a part of myself

Blogging has opened a lot of doors for me, not only doors of opportunity, but MEANINGFUL doors. Because of blogging, I have became popular (humility aside), not only for being Sexy Mom. Popularity is nothing if it ends there. In my case, popularity went one step further—a a credible portfolio in the form of my blogsite, which has resulted to a fair network. It is through my blog that I get various writing and reseach projects, and lately, an innovative work as project manager of a virtual assistance office. Through blogging, Tony Joaquin from USA, writer ot National Artist Nick Joaquin’s biography found me—and appointed me as the local representative here in the Philippines to handle research and interviews. Can you beat that? When in the past I only read them, now I not only interview them and the other national artists and equally important people in Literati, but I get the chance to move in their circles as well. I have been invited to the recently concluded National Book Award and the Palanca Award, invited to lunches and dinners—a dream of a writer at heart like me.

For all of these, I have my family to thank for—for being loyal, fiercely fighting for me, and you my dear Readers for sharing—my thoughts, joy, fun, challenges You were there to comfort in my most trying times.

And have I found my niche? Oh no! I havent! As the days go by, as ideas pop up, as things happen here and there, I find myself delving into more and more topics, that finding a niche is nowhere to be realized.

Dear Readers, this 1st Anniversary celebration is yours, too, as it is mine! Happy ONE!
