A Closure, A New Beginning–Reshaping the Online and Sexy Filipina Image

Yes, I admit, I was quite shaken when I wrote the earlier post, Whaaat, Sexy Mom a Disgrace to Filipino Women? Seems Like an Attack to Bloggers pe se. Imagine receiving threats, through my sons—when family is involved, but should not really, it is natural instinct to defend them. So affected I was that all I did the past 2 days was sleep, sleep and sleep—my automatic body defense mechanism when I am troubled. Oh yes, this should have been part of the Am I Weird meme written earlier.
I did not expect the outpouring support—from the bottom of my sexy heart, I am thankful to everyone who left their comments, even those who did not comment, but read the post. Comments were well said, I myself could not write in the same fluid way, feelings were expressed—what a pity, I could not even reply to the comments, as I diligently did with the other posts. But I treasure each of these comments, and the affection of those who wrote them. And yes, I sought solace through prayer.
Let this now be my closure on the matter. I just hope that the lurker (I forgive you, even if you do not apologize, and yes, I am sincere), who has chosen to remain quiet, has taken all points well meant, and must now have understood what Sexy Mom in The D Spot is all about, including its crusade, as BA stated, “my mom is promoting the Filipina mother in a very wholesome way”, and in my husband’s words, “That’s my wife sexy mom, NOT SLANDERER but teaching younger women to be GOOD MOMS through her blogs”. I just hope that with all this, the “threat” to my family is now lifted (they should really be out of this). Let me be insulted again and again, but please, please, not my family. With this closure, a bright beginning.
And now, I bounce back, I move on—with more vigor, inspired by the foreseen positive things that have come out of this incident touching the hearts of so many, particularly the patriotic hearts, remiscent of the Proud to be Pinoy posts and banners of many bloggers coinciding with Independence Day. Noemi’s How to Reshape the Sexy Filipina Image, Manila Mom’s Sexy Filipinas – Including Sexy Filipina Moms – Stand up and Be Counted, and BA’s Posting a comment is not enogh…Blog about it campaigns for reshaping the online and sexy Filipina image, are three shining examples, which we all should rally behind.
And yes, let’s continue Marc Macalua’s Filipina and Philippines SEO campaign, as mentioned by Noemi.
Here is BA’s piece, which explains Noemi’s and Manila Mom’s campaigns:
Posting a comment is not enough…Blog about it! (full post is here)
. . . Moving on… I am very very glad that this negative issue has spurred an advocacy for reshaping the online and sexy Filipina image.
Noemi Dado of aboutmyrecovery.com recalled of an old SEO campaign on “taking back the keywords” that refer to Filipinas and the Philippines. She then wrote about How to Reshape the Sexy Filipina Image, sharing how we could bring Filipina and sexy back. (I couldn’t resist, I just had to write that. Hehehe).
Let’s face it. Try typing “pinay” or “filipina” in Google, let’s see what you get. :p What more when we add the adjective “sexy?” Ironic that Google ads on some blogs, even when the blogger writes patriotically about Filipinas, get ads like the ones listed on the Google search results.
Tita Maia Jose of Cafe Romanza has followed suit, saying “Sexy Filipinas – Including
Sexy Filipina Moms – Stand up and Be Counted.” She asks us to
put in those keywords in our blogs: filipina, filipinas, philippine women, philipina, pilipina, pinay, babae, filipino women, filipino woman.
So this finally brings me to the title of this entry. Posting a comment is not enough! Blog about it!
I’m inviting you all to do as what Tita Noemi and Tita Maia asks us to: blog about the Filipina, the Filipina Sexy Mom, the Filipina Sexy Woman.
While leaving a comment is helpful, blogging about it is MEGA-HELPFUL! So… Google bombs galore!
Philippines
Filipina
Pinay
Filipina Moms
It’s about time that the online sexy Filipina image is, not changed, but taken back.
Let’s rally behind BA’s, Noemi’s, Manila Mom’s Marc Calua’s campaigns. Let’s not just post a comment…blog about it, reshape the sexy Filipina image, stand up and be counted.
Proud to be Pinoy, make the Philippines proud!

I’ll be blogging about this, Sexy Mom. I just hope I can squeeze it in my schedule for the weekend.
No wonder our country is so backwards-ass when we have people having too little perspective.
The problem is people most people in the Phils. are so busy with so-called morality to the point of being blinded. It is quite sad actually. I wish people could have been more open minded as well as to read clearly rather than jumping to conclusions.
Hi SexyMom..I’m so glad to know that you’re back on track. I so admire your guts and your forgiving heart. Many would have gone ballistic had it happened to them. For that alone, you truly deserve your title..Sexy and Strong Mom!! Kudos..kudos..kudos!!
BTW, as I mentioned to Noemi, this issue has touched a very raw spot. My late Lola was one of the foremost Filipina women crusaders in her time. She was the founder/co-founder of several institutions and organizations that helped the cause of Filipina women worldwide. And because of this I will staunchly support your movement, not only to prove that Filipinas are more than what search engines turn up, I’m doing this for my Lola’s memory too
P.S. I’ll blog about this
i wanna support the campaign. will do when i get less commitments.
but i do support you with the whole thing po.
HUGS.
[...] See, when I first read about the furor over the Sexy Mom internet handle, I thought it best to get over my disappointmet and turn it into a positive statement. The Smart and Sexy Mom herself wrote the entry, A Closure, A New Beginning–Reshaping the Online and Sexy Filipina Image. [...]
You certainly are not a disgrace to Filipino women. You’re a good role model, actually.
Tita, I love your courage and attitude. The way you protect you family and forgive that lurker even though she did not apologize is just so honorable.
You’re someone that everyone adores, talaga
(:
I’m sure every Pinoy can take back the good images that were held previously.
Hi Dine. I’m happy that so many people have showed their support for you. You are a wonderful person and your blog has touched many of us.
You have a big heart for forgiving the lurker responsible behind the cruel accusation.
May you continue to be inspired in your writing. Take care!
i’m sorry to sort of go off topic, but the stereotype of “sexy” filipinas are those cute girls in friendster that have all the youth and money on their side, plus, they’re skinny.
i’m not skinny and i’m not pretty, and all my life, it was hard to convince my family and friends that a woman’s worth is not because of her appearance. If you lead this revolution on the new image of sexy filipinas, i’m right by your side. We have the whole world to touch, and much women to empower.
Now “decentmother” must really be frustrated. Instead of having one Sexy Mom to attack, she/he will now be seeing a deluge of posts on Sexy Filipina Moms and Sexy Filipinas!
The world is going to see how sexy Filipinas truly are and what sexy really is.
there really are people whose “conservativeness” does not and do not understand reason/s. they are like you’re with me or against me. they are comparable to a horse whose side of their eyes were covered so that they can only “see” what’s infront of them and ignore whatever’s on their side.
there are really a lot of hypochites out there, and sorry for this, they’re hiding under the false cloak of “conservativeness”.
i salute you, and all the mothers out there whose courage and love for their families are unmatched.
on the lighter side, i am half-expecting that BA will change his Bababa Ba to sexy man hehehe.
Hi, Dine. It’s good to see that you’re up and about.
What a forgiving heart you have, a true Filipina Mom. Kudos!

wow i was shocked to read your previous post about the comment and naaliw ako reading the comments. you have a lot of supporters, including me.
i admire your way of reacting to that comment with this post, very creative and positive. i agree with u on reshaping the filipina image through blogging…it surely will make Mr. Google come up with better results for filipina-related keywords if more blogs would participate in this campaign.
Some people have the guts to shout out their comments yet are afraid to show their true self. I am happy with the turnout and outpouring of reactions. It is time to reclaim the true meaning of FILIPINA.
All the best to you Sexy Mom.
i wanted to make post about that too, but it’s kinda late now. i may have stopped blogging, but i have a lot to say. i just can’t seem to blog right now
Things like this always happen—-like that fact that says ‘hazards of the trade’. It’s better just to set it aside for whether we like or not, lurkers and spoilers as well as killjoys would always be part of life. As long as there are people out there who have nothing better else to do, things like this always happen.
I hope you are feeling better now.
blog away tita dine. we’re all behind your back.
Cheers to more beautiful entries. Mwah!

I want to share below:
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”.
LUKE 12:34
“What you value most is your treasure. Where you spend your time and your money is your treasure. Whatever dominates your conversation is what you treasure. What others know you for is a good indication of what your treasure is.
Most Christians are quick to claim that God is their first priority. Yet often their actions reveal that their treasure is not God but things of this world. Some Christians find it difficult to discuss their relationship with God, but they can chatter easily about their family, friends, or hobbies. Some find it impossible to rise early in order to spend time with God, but they willingly get up at dawn to pursue a hobby. Some find it difficult to give an offering to God but readily spend lavishly on recreation. Some boldly approach strangers to sell a product, yet they are painfully timid in telling others about their Savior. Some give hundreds of hours to serve in volunteer organizations but feel they have no time available to serve God.
If you are unsure of where your treasure is, examine where you spend your available time and money. Reflect on what it is you most enjoy thinking about and discussing. Ask your friends to tell you what they think is most important to you. Ask your children to list the things most valuable to you. It may surprise you to know what others consider to be your treasure.”
Hi dine,
You have a good heart.
That’s good what you are thinking now….
To forgive is Divine……
God bless you and your Family…——

hmmm…gotta write an entry about this too
See you later Dine! Take care!
Hi Sexy Mom,
I think my mom is sexy too, I guess I see her that way because I adore her and I love her. I’m sure your kids feel that way too! And I am looking forward to the day that my son will say the same thing .. “Mom, you are the sexiest mom on the planet!” My girl friends even call me “hot momma” sometimes, and I don’t get offended because I know it’s a praise, not an insult.
Anyway, mature, open-minded people know exactly what you mean when you say you are “Sexy Mom”.
