and the fireworks–that’s what you call grandeur to the max.

I am speechless, awed with the fantastic play of fireworks.

Final Olympic torch bearer, Li Ning, hoisted by cables soared through the air, slow-motion running along the top of the Bird’s Nest. He ran along the upper edge of the stadium, while tracing the image of an unrolling scroll, which shows joyful scenes from the long relay.

The cauldron is the end of the scroll looks enormous. Li Ning lights it, and in seconds the flames!. Then the real fireworks show began. It was sooooo amazing. It was a shining moment for China–can you beat that?

At that moment, pride swelled in my heart–as the world was one in this amazing moment.

From Wikipedia:

.

I’d be swelling w/pride too if I was watching that but right now I’m waiting for the video to load.

I have to say that I’m proud of the unity that all the nations have created. W/O this the athletes may not be able to come this far to compete w/the best of the bests from other nations.

The Olympic torch is a symbol of world unity and camaraderie. It is sad that the torch is crushed or dimmed in the mad scramble for medals and parochial pride.
